Alone in the rain this morning; waiting for friends
I, between regarding the comments of strangers, contemplated my situation
Chilled skin from a gentle breeze is far more comforting than home
I know they listen, maybe they even watched
But my curtains remain shut now
Every morning I adjust to the dark, set myself up for the day
Then leave

Is monotony truly dull?
Escapism comes in different forms
You don't need to imagine the adrenaline junky, the buisnessman, the popular guy
When each day, you can escape into your own life
Whether it's a bad thing, I couldn't say
But hour after hour of schooling, meaningless conversation with friends
Along with brief moments in her arms
To savour as rose-tinted memories
Are satisfying enough

Alone in the rain this morning
I contemplated my situation and concluded
I am content
It didn't take long to realise
The safest place was not her arms, but her eyes
Where she can't see you
For her gaze, it blisters;
Grey skin to cinders
