They're not appealing to Walmart's concern for the welfare of their employees, they're trying to appeal to Walmart's concern for their bottom line.

I'm simply saying that Walmart's concern for their bottom line will cause them to fire these employees. They'll go, "Oh, they're striking on Black Friday? Well, employees striking anytime is bad, but on Black Friday...shit, we're firing them asap!"
#42
Can't say I blame them. Fully support the strike, although i'm not sure it'll do anything.

Hopefully not. Hopefully even the press this is getting will play a role in encouraging them to negotiate. No business wants a reputation as a bully.

Go to Walgreens, or across the street to CVS Pharmacy

Why the hell are they almost always on the same intersection?

Also, I have never seen a closed Walmart. Not even in the middle of nowhere in Texas, Oklahoma, Missouri, and Georgia lol.

It's analogous to a queen moving in next to a knight in chess. Looking, menacingly, as she plots its demise.

I've heard of Walmart taking insurance claims out on dead employees and shit and not giving the money to the family, or something along those lines. My memory could be fuzzy.
They've done other ****ed up shit, too. Biggest distributor of Chinese made products, I hear, too.

I remember driving around Houston and seeing signs calling people to protest an Aldi that was supposed to be built in the area.

What, Aldi's not corporate and evil enough for you? Or are you still pissed off that your shitty super-stores were horrible failures in Germany?

This is me on the internet talking to a anthropomorphised figure representing the Walmart Corporation.

Compared to the only Walmart I've been in, ASDA is a much smaller, less warehouse-y looking version of walmart

I've seen a closed Walmart in Louisiana, though it was also because a huge hurricane just hit.

Exactly. I mean, it's kind of hard to care anymore when your company basically moves into small towns and drives all the local businesses out of business. Walmart doesn't need a damn good reputation; people shop there anyway, despite the fact that everyone knows the company has been doing asshole things for quite a while.

The majority of people are NOT going to stop shopping at Walmart because they fire a bunch of employees in the LA area. Most people don't want to give up the convenience and low prices. Very few people outright refuse to shop at a store, simply because of its business practices. Hell, if even 50% of current Walmart shoppers stopped shopping there, Walmart'd go downhill fast.

that's kind of funny wording since pretty much every Walmart is open 24 hours 7 days a week.

None of the Wal-Marts in my town are open past 11:00 pm. Same across the river in South Carolina.

Only 9 of the 20 Wal-Marts in Atlanta are 24 hour.
