I Hate McDonalds!

I'm lucky that I have a job as soooooo many people struggle to find one but seriously! McDonalds - it is a place of hell. Working for minimum wage (4.98) When in a minimum lunch hour the restaurant (term used loosely) brings in just over 1,000! The ******* is so incredibly hot in the summer that people look like they're close to passing out and some of the people they hire is ridiculous. Example I hear you all ask? A "colleague" saunters up and asks "Hey guys, I have dimples, do you have dimples? Do you know how dimples are formed?" I thought this was going to be something relatively clever/biological. His reply? "Like... When your in the womb it's your dads dick hitting you in the face when they have sex". Really? REALLY?!

So yeah, I hate my workplace and can't wait to qualify as a teacher so I never have to make a McDonalds again. What's the Pit's most hated jobs that you've held?

This is my first actual thread - how exciting!

What the restaurant brings in has no bearing on what your pay is.

The company I work for turned a profit of over 100 million last financial year - doesn't mean that my wage should be proportional though.

EDIT: Get a grip TS, you're a low skilled grunt and you're probably being paid more than you're worth.

If you're over 21 it's 5.30-ish I seem to remember. Under 21 it's like 4.50.

I work at McDonalds and I think it's an awesome place to work. I mean, it's a bit more work than my old job as a checkout operator :P but I think it's no where near as bad as people make it out to be.

I work as a 'trainee' draughtsman in a construction company and I get minimum wage. You get constantly treated like shit, and you put up with it. I've been there for nearly 5 years, so I know what im doing, but constantly everyone is stitching everyone else up. They're all cunts to be honest. I'd love to work at McDonalds.

I worked at McDonald's for a year and a half over here in the States before I moved onto a better job. I eventually made it up into the swing manager position making around $9.82 an hour with full benefits available to me. It might just be the region I work in, but starting wage is $8.25 an hour with some benefits available to even part time workers. The work is degrading and thankless, the management sucks and the customers suck even harder, but I feel like I was being paid justly for the work. Not saying that I would ever work there again though.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that I don't like everyone there, there are some genuinely nice people there who should be doing much more than working in McDonalds and have the potential to but don't have the motivation to do so. Yeah, I'm only 19 so it's significantly less than a 21 year old and even worse when your under 18. not very fair that in McD's anyway people get paid a pretty big difference for the same job! Once again, I know this happens everywhere, I'm not totally naive.
