Scored this Cameron CCV-100 last week and it just got here today. #3 of the pre-production ones.

Did not think this would live up to the hype, but it's incredible. Can't wait to try it through the Creambacks I have coming later this week.

It's not really as Marshall-y as some people claim though. It's more like what the Bogner Ecstasy should have been if it stayed a bit closer to its 800/Plexi roots. Much more balanced upper mid content with a slight bump in the lower mids. Plus it has all of that aggressive treble and presence that Bogner dialed out. Low end varies greatly depending on the punch knob. All the way down, it's a bit bassier than a good JCM800, all the way up, it's got stupid amounts of bass.

The diode clipping is surprisingly good. At least the left option with the higher Vf zeners is. No significant clipping artifacts unless you've got the gain set lower, and why the **** would you throw in the zeners then? The right option is kinda meh though. Might need more tweaking. There's a bit of ducking and it sounds almost like you're blending in some clean signal too loudly. Plus it gets pretty compressed.

It's pretty tight, but has just enough sag in the low end to remind you that it's got a bit of Plexi in it. More modern sounding of course, but it kept everything good about the Marshall topology while getting rid of most of everyone's complaints.

Incredible clarity, the guy I bought it off of wasn't lying when he said it was as articulate or more so than an SLO. Handles complex chords with ease with both gain knobs dimed and it really showed when I started playing it, as I hadn't warmed up.

Speaking of both gain knobs, there are two on the OD channel. They work in conjunction to give you different types of clipping. The right one seems to be a bit brighter and more aggressive, though they each have 3 way bright switches to they can be made to sound similar and you can just use them to dial in the exact amount of dirt that you want.

The clean channel is also great. Very Fender-ish and bright in certain settings, very early JTM45 in others. Plenty of gain on the channel too if you want it. Just dial up the gain knob and you also have the option of two diode clippers, plus another 3 way bright switch. Gets to early VH level gain, though it's a bit dark with not quite enough mids for me to want the gain up that high. Could probably dial it in a little better if you wanted to go that way though.

The Punch knob also has a 3-way switch to determine the frequency that it acts upon. Subtle differences, but I suspect it would be useful when switching between a 212 and a 412 without having to adjust many other settings. Presence knob is the same and the difference is pretty pronounced there.

So ya, absolutely thrilled and I've been playing it for several hours. Only complaint is that it's not the best pedal amp, but I've got others for that. A little too bright with too much presence for fuzzes to work well up front.

Using it like this tonight after rearranging my room:

Congrats!

That thing looks pretty compact on top of the Hagen. Looking forward to how it works with the Creambacks. Buy/borrow some different speaker combinations: K100s, V30s, T75s, EVM12Ls, please.

Running it through V30s/K100s right now, gonna buy an EVM loaded 412 after the holiday season. Don't like 75s enough to buy any.

HNAD! Was wondering about the hype/reality balance with this amp. Glad to hear it's a winner!

Aaaaand.....Creambacks are going to lend a real vintage high gain vibe. You should be able to nail some EVH tones with them.

Stoked to try the Creambacks with this amp. Still haven't run it in stereo with Brigand. Been too busy trying to move everything around to clean up the room somewhat with everything here, but I'd be willing to bet that it would sound fantastic. Especially with the Brigand focused a bit more on the lower mids with this providing the high mid cut.

And ya, it's fantastic. Tis a shame it's so hard to get one. I think there are less than 10 of these pre production models out there built by Mark and 15 of the production ones out. Second run has been delayed for almost 2 years and Mark just disappeared.

Wasn't so much that it was dirty, just that I wanted to space out the cabs some and put the Space Echo in between them. Full room pic:

And ya, I've been pretty lucky to have some stupid rare gear at my place. Lots of right place, right time buys.

Nah, that one spends most of its time in the case. I've just been playing it a lot lately so had it out yesterday. New mapz means it probably won't get played for a while again.

You wouldn't believe how much the ladies love nice shoes. Peeps don't ever believe me until we're walking around and I've got wimminz complimenting my shoes all over the place. Great conversation starter. Have white teeth, a nice pair of shoes and don't smell like sweat and you'll be going places.

Get a pair of Allen Edmonds. Best luck with those. I actually bought my last pair just because a nice blond was looking at them for her brother's Christmas present and I felt like striking up a conversation.

Though my CKs do pretty well. Anything relatively dressy with decent leather is pretty distinct and noticeable.

To be fair, the only reason I got the CKs is because it's like walking on air. Seriously, those shoes are stupidly comfortable, it's even more surprising that they're leather dress shoes.

Ya, that's why I got mine. The Allen Edmonds are okay for about 2-3 hours. My feet can only take about an hour of the Ferragamos, save for the drivers. Can wear the CKs all day long, which is great for my schmoozing days where I've got to walk around a room in formal wear for 6-7 hours. Only pair of formal shoes I've found more comfortable are the newer Uggs, but those are ugly as shit.

Based on all the hype on Rig-Talk alone I'd say you got a great deal. Should be super easy to flip too if you ever needed to. Or work a deal with Brad so you can something else and he can make a customer very very happy

But yeah....shoes speak volumes about a guy. Hate to say it. I used to wear crappy worn out shoes just in spite of this issue as a I Don't Give A F*** mentality. That only lasts so long though.
