The Ibanez SZ720FM. PRS feel at a fraction of the cost. Abalone binding, set in mahogany neck, Duncan designed pickups. I believe they were $700 brand new. I bought mine a while back for $300.

I believe Ibanez only made these for a few years.

Thoughts?

I don't think I've ever played anything in black walnut. It's a great ice cream flavor, so I assume it works well for a strat too.

The slugs in the pickups for telecasters are from old winchester rifles, which is why they sound so country.

srsly plenty of quality instruments can be found used for a bargain.

calling any single one "the best" anything is completely idiotic.

I know you are, but that's where I see this headed. I wouldn't be surprised if it turned into an Agile vs Gibson thread tbh.

No I'm not.

Not saying it isn't a diecent guitar, but it is a low-mid level guitar and in no way at all comparable to a PRS. Every thing on that guitar is inferior to what you will find on my PRS I garantee it

No argument here. Since it's a tough sell to the warden to drop 2 G's on a Custom 24, I guess my Ibanez will have to do for now. My dream guitar, though.

My brothers ex-wife we called the warden. My wife is "The Fun Police" because she knows how to ruin a good time

And if you do start looking a PRS guitars, you can get the CE22/24 for $1000ish and sometimes even less. It is basically a striped down bolt-on version of the Custom 22/24.

Yes your right at $300 that is a nice guitar and a diecent deal.

I have to laugh at some people.

I was looking at getting a PRS and a few people were saying that they are overpriced brand that has OK quality but not worth it.

Sometimes I find it hard to take advice from people.

It's one of the better $300 guitars for sure. Guitars have different characters, sometimes a cheaper one will play better than an expensive. Setup is so often overlooked on most new guitars by buyers
