You think your brain which is adapted to human life 120k years ago is going to make a distinction between airbrushed, shooped, modeled virtual girls and ones you meet on a day to day basis?
I think I know more about my boners than you, and my porn usage does not affect my ability to appreciate women that aren't porn stars.

Unless they gots dem big ol pancake nips, of course.

Real consequences for relationships, bro. Being hooked on porn is sure to make you sexually dissatisfied with your partner.
Maybe I'm wrong but I feel like a good relationship should last even if sex is completely and entirely removed from it.

I've said it before on here; I feel like a completely (or to the very least, almost) sexless romantic relationship would be more refreshing than one with sex, to me.

My challenge to you: quit porn for one month and see if you hit a flatline/dead dick phase. Can't hurt to try.

Dead dick sounds pretty painful to me.

The fact that you are looking for sexual stimulation elsewhere is sure to hit many girls right in the feels.

No, precisely, I'm talking very little to no sex, real or (especially) virtual.

Except we aren't sexless beings (for men, puberty especially takes care of that). We simply redirect our sexual desires. Yeah, she should be your best friend regardless of sex, etc etc etc

As if your woman isn't watching just as much porn as you, strumming herself wishing you'd pound her like the guy in the video.

Works both ways mate, and any adult can quite happily deal with the fact that they can't sort out their partner's every sexual desire.

Wasn't there a Seinfeld episode about this, where George got smarter the longer he went or something?

I doubt that.

Why?

Girls are wanking every day too

Girls don't rely on porn nearly as much as guys; internet porn for women is a miniscule fraction of what's out there for guys. Takes a little more finesse to get them going.

Every girl I've spoken to watches the same porn as me

And hardly.

Maybe you watch a miniscule fraction of porn that's out there for guys. And yeah, I've known girls who watch some pretty freaky stuff but I haven't known them to need it to get off or that that was as prevalent for them.

Now not every guy is going to have problems with porn, this thread is here to clue in those that do. Easy way to figure that out is to abstain for a month and see how your body reacts.

Holy balls, I'm the nonexistent control group. As an otherwise normal 19 year old college attending male, I have only ever watched a single porn video. It's not because of a moral objection or anything, just that as a 13 year old it was hard to access it on a shared computer living with a family whose sleep patterns left someone awake at almost all hours. So instead I would use images that wouldn't even really be considered soft-core porn, rarely anything with less clothing than underwear or a bikini.

I guess out of tradition and since it worked I just stuck with that, and eventually I came to realize that not using porn would make real experiences more pleasurable and meaningful when they did come.

Telling strangers about my masturbation habits is weird. I almost feel like I should have done this in the anonymous confession thread

Sometimes I find it amazing that I'm the only guy (on here at least) who doesn't watch porn. Not putting myself above anyone else or anything.

You're not the only one, I don't. I saw some once when I walked in on someone, but I don't watch it.

Some of you boys don't half talk shit.

I've gone time periods without watching it. Usually no more than a couple weeks. Truth is I really don't notice an affect on me. Although it does make it feel 100X better when you go back.
#102
I think it's viewed as more taboo (for lack of a better word) for women to watch porn. Really it's viewed as a negative thing if a girl appears as sexually hungry as a man.

lol obsessing over pixelated erotica is far from natural

Perhaps i wasnt clear. I meant pleasure is a natural instinct my good sir, not porn. Weather it be masturbation, drugs, food. If it makes you feel good, its a natural instinct to do it.

Well as long as it's "natural" then I guess it's ok to stuff my face at McDicks, drink an entire two four, and inject meth each and every day, This is how to live a healthy and happy life.

Never said it was healthy. But it sure as hell would make you happy. I assure you when a meth head shoots up they are happy. When someone who likes Mcdonalds eats a big mac, they are happy. When a person has an orgasm, they are happy. What i'm saying is that it is natural for a person to want to do something that cause pleasure/makes them happy. No need to go to extremes like you did then again to each their own

Don't you have better things to do? Like jerking off to barely legal teen lesbo bondage videos?

But are they addicted? People shouldn't give up something they enjoy because some pseudo-intellectual commie on the internet thinks he knows more about their sexual & mental health than they do after reading a couple videos/articles.

^ Or having incredibly satisfying sex with my girlfriend? Probably to be honest. Instead I'm listening to some numbskull on the internet apparently.

This is a thread targeted at those who may have a problem with porn. No one is forcing those who are confident they aren't affected by it to take part.

Pretty much. I've never really made a concerted effort though. It just happens, sometimes for a month or so. Not a big deal.

Porn addiction is a real thing that happens, and while I understand that intellectually, the idea of it is pretty baffling to me.
#116
After reading through this I feel like there should be a separate thread for the people who are quitting porn. Instead of calling it Nofap Novermber or whatever it should be called...
No Porn Period.

At least that way the people involved don't have to swim through posts of people talking/arguing about who's right concerning mental health and buffoonery. And it would coincide with what the guy in the video said.

Just a suggestion. If any one seconds it I guess I'll make the thread and sign people up.

JAKEDIT: Oh there was a No Porn Pact thread. It was closed because of the jackasses posting women. Maybe, just maybe there can be another one.

A lot of what was in that video itself is applicable to more than just porn though. The shit he was saying about internet addiction is kind of frightening since I think I display some of the symptoms.
