first up - kicrokorg XL and KRK Rocket 5's. most of the other stuff in this pic isn't new.

i love the synth, (which my wife got me with the monitors for christmas even though i picked them out. the synth is amazing, i haven't really even dabbled into a tenth of its functions. you get great sounds easily, which i haven't really tweaked at all (i will go through the book and learn a little more of these). the modulation wheel is really good feeling and has a good effect.

the monitors i just got because they were at a really good price, and i needed something for my synth. they are truely flat response which is great. i would like to get a sub to go with them in the long run thouogh.

now here is the new guitar:

i love it. it plays great, it isn't quite as nice as the 2570 or 3550, but price reflects that. $503 to the door.

i don't know what bridge it has though. so here is a pic. it actually says "licensed under floyd rose patents" i am really curious. hopefully somebody didn't swap the bridge for something shitty, or are these what come on it stock? if so what name is the trem? sorry i couldn't get a better pic.

i haven't played it much as it has .09's, and i need more springs so i can set it up for 11's, this one will be drop tuned a little bit. probably C# std or drop B, but again i may use heavier strings. great quality and attention to detail makes a great guitar. just like both of my other prestiges.

i am just a cheap ass... lol i use the same d'addario .11 for everything because you can get them for $35 for 10 setts. most strings cost near double that, but i may.

That ain't the stock bridge. All the Prestige RGs should have the Edge Pro. And that ain't! Actually that looks like the original Edge.

Actually the arm mount is wrong for an Edge. Maybe a Gotoh?

that's the shit bridge, sucks man.
fficial&client=firefox-a">https://www.google.com/search?q=licensed+under+floyd+rose+patents&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-USfficial&client=firefox-a
first link, says "not under our quality control."
I've used those in stores, they break strings and can't hold a tune.
a shop nearby was selling a JS1000 for $300 because someone swapped the bridge for a licsensed floyd.
I wouldn't put new strings on it yet

fwiw an edge or lo-pro also say "licensed under floyd rose patents", but that doesn't look like an edge or lo-pro, which sucks. Better pics would help, but as DarthV said, the arm mount is wrong (a gotoh doesn't have that mount, either fwiw).

I had that bridge on a few Jackson's. held tune fine for me. Nothing stripped.

Not near the quality as an OFR though.

ahahaha

i'm saying that solely from my experiences with them. I played a JS1000 with one and a kramer striker and both broke strings with the first use of the whammy bar

Thats ****ed up man. Not cool. Would make me stay away from them.

A lot of it depends on what the last guy did with it. Roll of the dice? It's by no stretch of the imagination a high quality device...

I have had 2 or three Jacksons with that type and they had no issues. Feels cheap when you are loosing the screws and everything.

I just hope no one monkeyed with it.

Restring it and see how it is after stretching them out.

KRK Rokits are far from flat, but I'm sure they're much flatter than what you had before... Don't get a sub though, I'd just wait till you have more money and get bigger speakers. If you plan on using those to mix with at any point, a sub is just going to be horrendously detrimental to your mixes in an untreated room. Bigger mains will give you fullness, without the wonky lows.

If you're only going to use them for the synth, get a PA instead - Alto TS112As are inexpensive, have tons of power and sound fantastic.

haha the best part was the managers face when he saw he proceeded to show me the squiers.

anyway, despite the trem that is a damn sexy instrument. the prestige series kicks the ass of most shreddy guitars I've played and you got one for a steal!

Nice haul!

guitar is going to be returned to GC tomorrow. its messed up how they can not only NOT tell you the back trem cover is missing, along with the screws, and not notice that the bridge is fake, after asking questions for 30 minutes with a rep. WTF???

and them not doing anything other than say it is "as is" which i understand, but the proper spces were't fully disclosed. than offering to return it and get another one. he said that i would have to pay for one, but he could get them.

again. **** the guitar its going back, and i am going to get another from GC and hope that it will be better.

they do fine. i only paid $150 brand new in box for the pair total. i don't i think i would gig with the synth, but maybe on some recordings when i get that straight.

yea. it really sucks, but again i have the 30 exchange policy thing and i will go to my guys tomorrow and see what they will do.

the main thing that is going to piss me off is if they charge for shipping a second time.

and like i always do i took pics as i pulled it out of the package, then the case, then fine details. then the NGD shots i took. at least i have my ass backed.

fwiw i think you're doing the right thing returning it. half the point of the rg5xx/15xx and up is the killer trem. Granted you could just buy an edge or something like that, but the original owner may well have had to mod the body for it to accept that cheapo licensed copy... edge variants are generally a slightly different size from most other floyds.
