Hello all,
Im in the process of needing an amp that will be loud and good for my band. I play on a MIM Strat and an Epi Lp. Pedals= big muff pi w/ tone wicker, dunlop compression, dunlop carbon delay, original crybaby, ernie ball volume pedal. Now my band plays alt rock (rchp, nirvana,PJ), classic (mostly zeppelinesque), modern alternative (foos), punk. In fact its a wide variety of genres. Mostly punk/alt rock tho. Now being a huge hendrix and frusciante fan, i am influenced most off them. I want an amp that is very warm and bassy on the cleans, fuzzy with my muff distorted, and can scream with my wah. Now dont flame me saying i should be original because I try to stray away from being a copier and do my own thing. But that is basically what the barebones of my tone is. Hendrix/fru. Now for the harder side, i need a grungy, modern rockish distortion like the foo fighters. What amp can I get that would suit me. Price range= 0-500. preferably a head. A combo would suffice if its going to achieve what I said. Thanks to all and happy playing!!

Are you saying that you already have a cab or does this 500 dollars/pounds/euro/sheckles/grams of yak fat have to cover a cab as well?

Yes I was rude, and I was aggressive and I was offending a large group of people. But I was civlized about it.

If you want an amp with two channels, go Marshall JCM2000 DSL401. You can get those used in that price range. It's a combo, so you won't need a cab if you don't already have one, but it'll still hook up to a cab like a head.

You gotta wait a little bit. I see them pop up around that price every now and then but it's not every day
