Ive seen super computers fail at this... so if this vyper can. I will sell my soul to the modeling gods.

on a real note.. I loved the old vyper tube series. if they werent such problematic piles of crap they would be amazing amps.

I've had zero problems with my Vypyr 60....and I play it a lot.

There are two things keeping me from just using the Vypyr as my main amp that I'm really hoping the II brings:

1) I need to be able to use *at least* 2 FX simultaneously. That was the major downside of the WYSIWYG layout (though I do like it otherwise).

2) It's not MIA (construction-wise).

When I first read the article, it seemed like they were just trying to make a large version of a Yamaha THR. Now, I think this is going to be pretty interesting. It depends on how it sounds, and how much it costs, but I would be considering picking one of these up for a practice amp if I didn't already have a Mustang 1.
#27
From the article, it sounds like a cool modelling amp to own, especially allowing you to do bass with your electric. Might grab a little 20 watt one just to record with.

I'm also glad they decided to keep the Sanpera.

I saw it in person and it looks much nicer. I was not able to play it today, planning it tomorrow.

The peavey rep was saying will do bass, acoustic, guitar.

All have USB interface.

All have a ported back.

Agreed about picking one up for recording. Seems like It might be a great amp. Anybody seen details on if the electric amp models are the same as the Vypyr or if they put some new amps In?

Because people who buy Vypyr amps get them to play acoustic guitars.
Well, yes. People buy Vypers because they want to play a variety of styles. Why wouldn't an acoustic guitar often be within the scope of that desire to play varied music?

So this is the first amp that you can play from an acoustic, electric and bass? How is this innovative? They just added some extra models (more is better)? The main reasons I didn't buy a vypyr were the limitations in how you could handle effects, both number (1 pre, 1 post + delay, reverb & wah) plus selection, and the fact that there was no presence control. Have those changed? If not, any reason for someone with a vypyr to upgrade to a new one?

If I understood correctly this is a first amp that can turn your guitar to sound like a bass guitar. Bah, baritone tuning is for wussies, lets all play an octave or two down.

I didn't understand it that way at all. As I understood it, it can function as a guitar amp, bass amp or an acoustic amp, 3 very different things.

It's a good concept if they can pull it off, which remains to be seen.

Or....I could be dead wrong and your interpretation is correct?

I had the same interpretation, that It could be used for multiple instruments. Baritone tuning would be cool though.
