Today while messing around, I realized and remembered that The Guitar Book by Pierre Bensusan is a fantastic publication and a great collection of pieces and fun for playing.

Does anyone else have any recommendations for good acoustic guitar books, of any sort?

There are of course the typical classical works, ie the Sor method, Carcassi, etc., but I'm looking more for modern stuff.

My God, it's full of stars!
Hal Leonard has a decent book of acoustic guitar songs that has a few modern songs if I recall. For more bang for your buck I reccomend "The Complete Guitar Player Songbook" by Russ Shipton. Though this one is mostly classics along the lines of Tom Petty, Simon and Garfunkel and Eric Clapton to name a few. There is also a few old folk songs. According to the back cover there is over a hundred songs.
i'm pretty sure Rolling Stone magazine put out a 3 book series of the top 500 songs of all time. it of course would refresh my memory about more books if i had some nice Edwinson pictures to go by
