Ugh, baseball.

How about that superbowl, guys?

Throw me in the Tigers slot (even after the debacle last series).

Ah, baseball will always have a special place in my heart as my third favourite of the four major North American sport and sixth favourite sport overall.

When I do watch I'm either 1) betting on the game or 2) watching the Blue Jays. You can put me down as a Jays fan if you want, probably won't ever come back to this thread though.

New baseball thread!

Anyway, I just saw this picture showing the lines as single-game tickets for Marlins Park go on sale.

(Invalid img)

Hopefully that means people are wising up and refusing to go to games until Loria is dealt with. I know I won't be going to anything but spring training games.

Put me in the Cubs slot please.

I think they can play .500 baseball (give or take a few wins) this year. Still probably not going to compete much. Anyone think this, or am I just stupid?

Better put me down for the Jays early before all the band-wagoners join in when they dominate the ALE on their way to a WS win.

Mets are interested in Michael Bourn. It would be a good sign, but they're still a few years off from really contending in my opinion.

Updated the OP.

I guess we can really start talking about who's in when ST starts and we'll see what kinda moves are gonna be made.

And I don't have internet that can connect to my PS3.

And I personally like Lincecum more with shorter hair. I used to be in love with him back in the day, hence my username.

Sorry Grey! And yeah mostly cause of what BrainDamage said. But seriously I can't forget all you Braves fans.

And OP is updated. Speaking of which, there's not too many fans of the NL West.

Okay, I need some help from you guys.

Basically, I work at my campus radio station, and twice a week I sit in on a show talking about sports. With spring training starting, baseball is now being discussed.

My knowledge of baseball does not extend very far beyond the basic rules, the Orioles and a lot of stuff about them, and the fact that I dislike both the Yankees and Red Sox a fair amount.

Please give me a crash course in what I should know to be able to cover myself until I can research things myself for the upcoming baseball season.

The Jays look really good on paper. They may have a chance to compete in the AL East this year. I read an article today about how everyone around that team is pumped up. Could be interesting to watch.
