Junior's usually at least a little terse, but he knows his stuff. I've always read his posts in a grouchy grandfather voice, a grouchy grandfather with a huge stiffy for alternate picking.
Besides that, he's right this time. As usual.

I don't see how E major is a "rarely" used chord. If anything, it's a very common chord.

Dude, just put a capo on the 4th fret, and play C major (open). You should see the family resemblance.

Just Emmaj9, dude.

Was interested to know whether people here actually know what it is they're posting. Or just posting cuz it's something that sounds hip at the time.

Try stacking up fourth intervals to get quartal chord shapes. I love to do this over modal grooves!

jesus ****ing christ go away. i'm starting to turn into hail. we have enough modal threads where the modal camp has 47% of an idea what they're talking about. let's not add this to the chopping block too.

if you think chords are "rarely used" then your taste in music is too narrow. expand your tastes, learn different styles of music, and you'll see that the chords you deem "rarely used" are actually quite common.

OK, my guess is Cmaj11.

C major with a major 7th, plus a 4th in the bass
