I'm new on here so dont know if anyone has heard of this guy? Im looking for an amp here in the UK that will get me a Pantera sound. Just found a website based in the UK where he's got some really heavy clips of a new amp. No pics as yet but his other amps are like Hiwatts. Its called Elektrik Black Amp. Dont know if Im allowed to put a website on here so just google Elektrik Amplifiers. No prices though?? Anyone know anything??

Randall Century will work
Randall RG100

yeh thanks Robb, only problem even if I could find one is the pedals for eq and stuff. These clips I think are just the amp and it sounds pretty close. And some really different distortion sounds to the normal stuff Ive heard. Might have to investigate further

Apparently the Randall RG1503 are pretty close to the older RG100ES he used to play, plus an extra channel with more gain.

How about this? Give us the following info, and we'll provide some better advice:

What's your budget?
Will you buy used?
Do you jam witha drummer/play live?
What's your current gear?
What genres do you play and what bands are you basing your tone off of?
Where are you located?

Clearly, nobody is familiar with those amps, but if you give us this info, we can give you a list of amps we ARE familiar with that will do what you want.

EDIT:

Nope. He's advertising. See this:

Well then go away and leave GG&A for good. The worst part is you are pushing something you know nothing about. Help from me is now done.

If you want to sound like Dimebag then pretty much either the Dime or the Randall RG since they are more or less the same deal as the Randall RG100ES he used to play, plus they are cheap/affordable. Haven't heard about the company you mentioned but those custom made tube amps can set you back some big-ish amount when all you need is pretty much a good solid state amp.

My bad, blktiger's right.
it's nice to help someone out with advertising but this is not the way to do it. the forum has rules. and one of those is to not advertise for you or your others company.
sorry.

First, you're advertising, then, after I prove that, you're an ass about it, then, you're an ass about the advice that HAS been given to you while ignoring the information I requested so that we can recommend you an amp that will be available in your area, in your budget, and that will do what you want.

At this point, either stop being an ass, stop advertising, and give us the information I requested so that we can actually help you, or take your terrible attitude and advertising and get the **** out.

TS the $250 was to show you you can find the Dime amps pretty cheap in the USA so go look for one in your area and see what they cost there.

First off I would say anything I have here to your face.

Second if you knew to look at Randall, why were you here asking what could get you Pantera type sound? It is obvious because that is what he was using

But what really has pissed me off is the accusation that Im running a business just because I have mentioned or suggested somebody you've never heard of !!

He used Randall RG100ES on most of the Pantera albums and that was a solid state amp. It was more expensive back in the days but it basically had the same circuitry as the Dime D100 or Randall RG1503. Solid state amps are just getting cheaper and cheaper to make nowadays.

And seriously, his sound is quite hard to reproduce on a tube amp, you pretty much have to use a solid state amp.

Bro, find a cheap older Randall, and buy it. The RH-series, the RG series, the Century amps.....

They all sound very similar and are very cheap. Without meaning to be rude, you could find out exactly what Dime was using very easily and see that our recommendations are justified. I am not sure why you decided that you needed to be a pain in our ass today, but I don't appreciate it.

Please:

You didn't come here politely... You came here promoting your friends ish...

If you were serious about getting an amp you'd give us your budget and more info.

Randall is the way to go for Pantera. Grab an EQ pedal and dial that shit in.

This just gets better and better

I WAS going to come on here and report the thread that should have been closed days ago, and then suggest that everyone drop it, since he is CLEARLY not interested in actually getting our help, but this is too damn entertaining for that

So, having said that, TS, if you actually wanted help, you would have given the information that I've requested TWICE now, and that has been requested by at least one other member. Since you still haven't done that, and instead have insisted that you aren't advertising and just flamed at us for giving you the exact advice you wanted, then it's pretty clear you didn't actually want advice. If you already knew how to achieve Dime's tone, then why did you come here?

As for saying it to your face, that's a child's argument, and one of the most pointless things to say on the internet. Stop acting 11 years old and either giveus the information requested, or leave. Anything else and you can consider this thread reported.
