Poll added, neither is just. I dont like that judges have the final say in terms of sentencing.

Judge acting like some disgruntled senile retiree. Girl acting like a 12 year old.

The bail increase might do her some good. Not sure that 30 days locked up is necessary. Flipping off a judge doesn't make her a threat to public safety.
#47
Raising the bail just for saying audios is stupid. Although kind of hard to defend her after her second reaction.

Stupid bitch.

I see nothing wrong here.

Exactly. She's disrespectful and deserves a bit in jail to remind her to respect her elders.

I'm not sure this is how American jails or prisons work lol

No, it isn't. But fact is, sitting in jail and knowing that the reason she's there is because she mouthed off to a judge, that might do her good.

I think you're being unreasonable in your expectations of her emotional maturity.

Doubling bail for saying Adios = Racist?

Que? They're both hispanic. I don't see how there would be any racism going on there.

Also, IMO, she got what she deserved. She was gonna have to learn one way or the other that she's not hot shit, and there are people who aren't going to take her shit. Unfortunately, American prison, especially FL prison from what I've heard of the prisons there, is completely counter-productive for any rehabilitation. She'll probably end up worse off.

I think they we both hispanic. The judge had a thick cuban/american accent.

The judge was kind of a dick, but she deserved it for being a bitch.

I voted option 2 if that means anything. The lesson to be learned here is you can avoid a lot of shit by having some common decency.

Yeah, not really. That's a ridiculous overcompensation and an incredibly bitter and petty thing to do. Fat fuck needs to chill the fuck out

Not saying it wasn't bitter or petty, but the girl was very rude the entire time. Court rooms are extremely formal and deliberate places, and literally all she had to do is say "thank you" and "goodbye" (or adios, I couldn't care less) in a respectful answer and get on with her previous bail. I agree that a five thousand dollar raise on the bail is ludicrous, but it does not change the fact that it was preventable.

They were both completely out of line. Calling him a **** and demeaning all judges is petty.
#64
from the tldr the judge is in the wrong. lets not let emotions get in the way of official life altering jail sentences.
#65
She was acting like a knob. Judge acted like bigger knob when he upped it by 5,000 and said Aidos back to her.

Deserved the finger, although he deserved the finger shoved up his arse to clear the shit out and stop making him a disgruntled old bastard.

Fuck head!

I can't tell if you're trolling or not. Courtrooms aren't the place to act like a punk-ass bitch. As a judge, the courtroom is not only your workplace, but it is a place where you need to command respect. I'll bet you the next dumbass kid won't start shit with that judge.

I understand that but she was already acting a knob before it so why not just up it there and then or stick her in for 30 days?

Also knobs, shitheads and punk ass bitches don't change no matter where they are and don't care about respect to anyone so why should he feel like she should give it to him? (Respect that is...)

I'd be pissed off too if I were arrested for xanax. I think he overreacted, but she should have known better not to provoke someone in a position to put your ass in jail for the smallest offense.
#69
Because he is a judge and holds her fate in his hands? Shit, this isn't exactly rocket science.

I'm bloody well aware about how a courtroom works. Being a petty dick, saying it back to her, etc isn't doing anything. I'm sure he's giving her shit over the obstruction of justice but that's exactly what idiot, petty, emotional judges like this fat fag do. Incarceration should be for isolating threats to society from society, not for isolating "punk ass bitches" for not having the correct manners. Judge Judy esque bullshit that has as little place in a court of law as the original behaviour.

Because until she flipped him off she didn't do anything worth being held in contempt of court for?

Also, I disagree. I've had relatives who were assholes when they were 18, essentially like this kid, but they straightened their shit out.
#73
There's a bit of a difference in regards to what my expectations are towards judges compared to drugged out bimbos who are pretty blatantly slow.
#76
Keeping a courtroom in order is part of a judges job. If he lets everyone walk all over him, he won't command any respect and fail his responsibility of keeping the courtroom running smoothly and orderly.

It doesn't "go both ways". She doesn't have any responsibility towards him.

Yes she does. However the punishment clearly doesn't fit the crime.

Fuck it I can't be arsed getting into a mass debate about it. I think he was wrong to increase it and for the jail time. Although she was being a knob.

Sorry I didn't write that clearly I meant to say that change that quick.

Yes people sort the lives out but I dont think said person would do something wrong, whatever it may be and then go into court a new person and a saint.

Again just my opinion
