So I've finally grabbed enough cash to start looking for a new axe that I'm in desperate need of and I'm looking at some flashy 80's hair metal shredders. My first low tiered choice was the BC Rich Gunslinger Retro. Maple neck, single pup, Floyd, reverse headstock, whole shebang but I can't find any of the first runs with alder bodies and all that...
So what I can find for under $600 on eBay is an Ibby RG550 that's in a bid war from a few people or an ESP GL 500K, the Korean made George Lynch Kamikaze that is much better than the new 200 series made in China

Which is a better deal, both are in good shape and there aren't many reviews of the Kamikaze online so I don't know what to do with my money... Day dreaming over gear and actually making a decision on one are totally different so I need outside opinions

^ Agreed

Although, in the event you don't get it, the ESPs a great axe.

I tried one in a store about a year ago and still wish I had the cash to have purchased it.
Main Rig:

Epiphone MKH Les Paul Custom 7 - Ronda
Ibanez RG8 "Scarlet" - AKA The Rambanez

I would go for the red and black bullseye 84 Baretta reissue. Just search for Kramer Baretta and it should pop up with a $600 BIN. That would be my pick for a flashy 80's hair metal shredder. Otherwise I'd go Ibanez.

I have two RG550s and they are incredible. Go with that.

ibanez.

I own a couple Ibanez's and an ESP, and the Ibanez's take it for pure 80's guitar-god mayhem.

The only reason I was wary of the Ibby was because the seller didn't know anything about the pups and specified no returns which made me wary... But the law requires all 80's RGs to have multicolored DiMarzios anyway, so I guess it wouldn't be too bad for dud pups... I got a bid out on the RG, here's to a NGD in my near future

Heartfield Talon sounds like what you're looking for. Not only do they look like vintage '80s hair metal, they are vintage '80s hair metal. They're fender-owned, ibanez-produced MIJ HSH shredder guitars with a licensed or original floyd rose. They have awesome colors for hair metal, too.

I haven't been around for long, but you seem to recommend Godin in every thread, even when it's irrelevant. OP asked for help choosing between two specific guitars, and you recommend a Godin. Yeah, Godins are pretty nice. You probably have one or a few. Kudos. Shut the **** up about them from time to time. No offense, but I'm pretty sure we all know you like Godin.

OT: I'd go with the Ibanez.

Don't own a single one, but have played a few. Have a nice day.

Yeah, it isn't complete until it'll make Stevie Wonder say "God Damn!"

look at a Charvel Model 2 or the already mentioned Kramer Baretta. a newer option is the George Lynch tiger style that LTD put out a couple of years ago. played one and really liked it.
