Anyone use the Digitech x series pedals. I have the death metal pedal but i was curious as to if anyone had used this in chain?
#2
I've used a couple of the modulation and synth pedals. They weren't bad and didn't suck tone as 'digitally' as one would expect

I had a Digitech XMC chorus pedal. Believe it or not, that was an awesome pedal. I liked it a lot. That chorus pedal was probably my favorite chorus pedal I've owned. I also had a DF-7 distortion pedal, I dont know if thats part of the X series but I really didn't like that one.

I actually really like Digitech pedals. The Bad Monkey is a good overdrive for the price. Also, the DigiDelay pedal is a good pedal as well.

Ironically, most of the digitech compact pedals are not digital.

I'm not a big fan of the Death Metal, but hey, each to his own.

Digitechs product line is a bit hit and miss. Some pedals are epic, some not so, some neither good nor bad. Then again, you can say the same for most manufacturers.

Moral of the Story: Try before you buy.

Like previously stated, most Digitech pedals are hit or miss. I've owned the Metal Master pedal, and I loved the tones I could get out of it. I haven't used the Death Metal pedal, but I've heard from other people that it's really not that great. Then again, stuff like the Bad Monkey is a great pedal to have.

I have a Bad Monkey and really like it for some boost situations. I use it as a clean boost but I like the fact it has a seprate bass control unlike a TS-9

I wouldn't like to judge them as a whole range, let alone as a company. Some of Digitech's products are the best of their kind, to me. Their delays and modulation effects are fantastic, the HardWire line are the best non-boutique pedals money can buy and even a lot of their cheaper pedals are very good for the price. The Screamin' Blues is my #1 overdrive pedal of choice for any style of music and any budget.

But for every good pedal they make, they make a bad one, too. I loved the Screamin' Blues, so I assumed they would do a good job with the Clapton pedal, but nope. Good Leslie tone out of it, but everything else blew, hard.

So, consider each pedal by itself.

I worked at GC when the the EC Pedal came out. I've never been so close to crying over a pedal in my life. Just Terrible.

Hardwire series is another awesome example indeed. I was skeptical at first because it says TECH in the name. But i was shocked. It came down to two chorus pedals, Hardwire and MultiChorus. And the Multichorus won only because i got a better deal on it.

I have never understood why anybody would think the date somebody joined a forum is of any relevance to anything. I'm pretty sure Eric Clapton could join these boards and somebody would call him a clueless newb.

I'd get the hardwire versions of each effect over the X-series. the x-series i had were the hot rod and bad monkey. Both had limited tone control (that is, it was hard to noitce too much of a change when you moved knobs) and had a marginally passable bypass at best (in my opinion).
Charvel So-Cal (SH6TB/N). Joyo pxl pro.
Loop1=Crybaby from hell, Seymour Duncan 805 or Green Rhino, EQD Hoof. Loop 1 into ISP decimator II.
Loop 2 (FX loop)-Line6 M9. Loop 2 into mxr 10band. All into a Peavey Triple XXX 212, Ibanez IL15.

Yeah i didnt care for the Hot Rod but i like the Bad monkey. Its kind of a Fav around here i notice. Oh and the Screamin Blues. That one is neat to. But i was into metal when those came out so i really wasnt paying attention to anything blue.

I didn't mean it like that. I've just seen the pure disdain for GC employees here.
