Clothes in general are too conformist to be punk and so wearing them is not punk. And that is just clothes in general. A clothing line? That's like... you should feel ashamed for thinking that that could possibly be punk in any way.

Yeah guys, i'm thinking about starting up a punk rock band really soon. I wanna throw in some of the groovy basslines I've wrote
#9
I doubt anyone here has any actual experience with that.
Just use some t-shirt making company and put a few out there in hopes that a real company likes your stuff, I guess.

Also, are you edmodo jr.?!
This sounds like something edmodo would want to do.

Hey don't be dissing on Asking Alexandria. They may not be the most talented but they are one of the leading bands in the metal world today, not to mention they saved metalcore from its certain demise

have you ever wondered
how to start a clothing line
that's super punk rock?

[here's a guide!]

go to the hardware store
and get some lumber
like pops

then go to the craft store
and get some instructions
like ma

(you will be building
a little house
in the back yard)

but you are saying
i don't live in the city
i live in the country

well sometimes you have to
be a bit sly
and go about things in a roundabout way

follow the instructions
and nail up the boards
with a nice purple siding of velvet

say goodbye to your ma and pop
say hello to your new little house

...just imagine!

Converge is great but they arent metalcore. They're a straight heavy punk band. Metallic hardcore maybe? Or crossover thrash

You get lol/mad stack for your ignorant opinions.

Oh, and fyi, traditional Metalcore (or "real" Metalcore) is the same as Metallic Hardcore, you dope. Metalcore = short version of Metallic Hardcore.

Edit:
TS just keeps making himself look more and more ridiculous with his bad musical opinions/knowledge (or lack thereof).

but he does tho.

and come on, you're gonna tear into someone for being ignorant about the evolution of hardcore, then you're gonna call me '4 rectangles'?

How so? Honestly, he just proved to the entirety of the pit that he knows zero about Metalcore. He may know about NuMetalcore, but saying Converge isn't Metalcore is like saying that the Sex Pistols aren't Punk. It's just silly.

Well...I couldn't call you 4 boxes.

Edit:
I'm not trying to be a jerk, but you don't have a very pronounceable username. I called you what made sense to me. If you'd rather be called something different, maybe you should activate your sig and then put something like "Call me (insert something here)".

Now is the only appropriate time to ask. Honestly, How the **** do you pronounce it?
If a friend says to you in person "hey, what's your UG username?". What (phonetically) do you tell him?
Whenever I see your name, I just refer to you as "this guy" and keep scrolling. It ****ing kills me.

ha, i think when i once told someone irl how to find me here i was just like 'it looks like the black flag logo, you'll probably see it if you look at the punk forum.'

preferred pronunciation is 'flagsy.' :-)

you just proved you know zero about punk. you may know about uk77, but saying ? and the mysterians isn't punk is like saying elvis isn't rock & roll. it's just silly.

1 i don't effing care what you call me
2 you don't have to 'pronounce' my name. copy and paste. duh.
3 my point was it looks like the 'black flag bars' and if you don't recognize that pretty quickly then you probably don't have any business quibbling about styles of hardcore.

ugh what am i doing? reading marx, listening to '90s emo, and arguing in the pit, am i replacing due? ;__; this ends now.

The worst part about metalcore fans is that they don't actually know what they're talking about when it comes to genres.
For how can I give the King his place of worth above all else

I never claimed to know about Punk. I do however know a bit about Metalcore.

(And yes, I know that Metalcore developed from Hardcore Punk.) I don't actually have to know about Punk or Hardcore Punk to know about Metalcore (both traditional and Nu) and its stylistic tendencies.

Though to be fair, traditional Metalcore is easily much better than NuMetalcore, if for no other reason than the fact that traditional Metalcore still has a great deal of Hardcore Punk influence. (I do listen to a fair amount of Hardcore, though I hardly claim to know much about it, beyond the obvious stylistic tendencies it has.)

1 i don't effing care what you call me

1) Cool.
2 you don't have to 'pronounce' my name. copy and paste. duh.

2) Too lazy.
3 my point was it looks like the 'black flag bars' and if you don't recognize that pretty quickly then you probably don't have any business quibbling about styles of hardcore.

3) LOL. Because I don't know about Punk in general, I can't say what is and isn't Metalcore. By that logic, since I'm not a chef, I shouldn't quibble over styles of American pizza.

ugh what am i doing? reading marx, listening to '90s emo, and arguing in the pit, am i replacing due? ;__; this ends now.

etc

shouldn't have used that ? and the mysterians analogy, that was pretty oblique.

i'm just gonna wrap it up by saying yeah you don't have to be a punx scholar to distinguish converge from trivium or whatever, that wasn't my point. 'genres' are tools of communication and they're nebulous things. say 'numetalcore' in the real world (or 'metallic hardcore' for that matter) and you'll probably have to explain yourself. the whole conflict ain't about being 'right' or 'knowledgeable', it's about havin' class.
