The price range for the LTD Elite is so over priced. You can find a used ESP for that price and its quality would be much better.

The same thing can be said with many brands. Ibanez, Fender, Epiphone, ect..

cant comment on the quality but for sure the necks will be thinner than gibsons. not as thin as most ibbys but plenty thin enough. esp/ltd profiles are by far my favorite.

That's what I've been thinking.

I mean, maybe if you don't know any better but if I can get an actual ESP Eclipse 2 for 1100 bucks or less used, I would never consider these guitars.

I figured the new Elite line was meant to compete with the Ibanez Prestige line, not the used ESP market.

Are these things in-store at GC?

Well, no matter what they intend the guitars to compete with, they still have to compete with the used ESP guitars either way.

To you they are competing with the used ESP market. To the guy that's thinking about buying a new Prestige, the LTD Elite is another option. In other words, they aren't competing for your money, so your opinion is irrelevant.

Isn't the guy buying a new Prestige going to look into a used ESP as another choice or does he just pretend that's not an option?

It's not the Prestige line that they're competing against.

It the Premium line that the Elite series is it's competitor.
Damn it! Disable can't use disable to disable Disable's disable because disable's disable has already been disabled by Disable's disable!

Are you serious? How many used ESPs are on the walls of the average Guitar Center? How many people are afraid to buy used guitars? How many people know nothing and seek the guidance of a salesman?

We speak highly of the used market on these forums, but there is still a large number of people buying new. And there certainly aren't enough used ESPs around to please everyone that wants a MIJ ESP style guitar.

Are you assuming, or do you have a link to back this up? I was just making an assumption based on the price and country of manufacture.

I don't know. I don't stand at guitar center, check the walls for used ESP guitars and survey everybody. I don't even have a guitar center here.

Do you survey every guitar player and ask them if they're afraid of buying used gear or are you just assuming? Do you survey guitar players and ask them if they strictly buy new gear? If you haven't, aren't you assuming?

Go for a used ESP Eclipse for that price.

Made in Japan or not, that LTD Logo just kills it for me
Starting Weight: 310, 38.8% Body fat (11/2008, pic in profile)
Latest Weigh in 230.2 14.3% Body fat (4/13/2013)

Honestly, y'all, there ARE people out there who refuse to buy used. Some of them even post in this forum...

Why?

I hope that's not a brand snobbery comment, high-end LTD guitars are very nice. If you're just saying that it's overpriced for what you get, then I guess that's understandable. Once used LTD Eclipses get down around where the 1000-series is, it'll probably be a great guitar for the money.

So has anyone actually tried one yet? The Andy james review on youtube really impressed my ears but you never can tell til you play one , no one around my area carries them so I cant try one out
