ive been playing over voodoo chile for weeks and for pure adrenaline i cant find anythign close to it.

some pink floyd ones are goof but they are far to depressing same with the led zep ones i can find.

And I am totally bored of the generic blues backing tracks on youtube

cheers

Not all Pink Floyd songs are melancholic. Granted, most of them are, but still.

There's Fat Old Sun, Money, Poles Apart, Coming Back to Life, and more.

Or, if you like David Gilmour's style, a few of his solo songs that I'd recommend are:

Mihalis, Deafinitely, Blue Light

Because he's the hero The Pit deserves, but not the one it needs right now. So, we'll hunt him, because he can take it. Because he's not our hero. He's a silent guardian. A watchful protector. A Dark Anus.

Yes.

And my personal favorites, though they are in-line with that "sad" sound, are Comfortably Numb and High Hopes.

So far you've said Jimi, Floyd and Zep... So rocking/hard blues songs that are fun to play to? Well look at any Zep and any Jimi, most of their catalogue (especially the "hits") are hard rocking up tempo songs with pretty free feeling solo sections. Get at it and play Jimi and Jimmy!

For Jimi Hendrix I'd say try Red House. One of my favorites by him, and incredibly bluesy.

I like Zeppelin, but have no recommendations for them.

Dragon's Mistress from Marty Friedman is pretty fun and if you got the skills Concerto by Cacophony.
Marty Friedman+Jason Becker=Cacophony

Images is probably more fun if your going for a Cacophony track. It IS very difficult though.

Snatch is such a crude term - Use a better one like axe-wound or cave-opening.

The chord progression from that Alex Clare song that charted is excellent. Also My Same by Adele.

Don't judge me.

To play lead over?

That takes me back to when I was starting out playing along 'or trying to play along' to these

(Back then, I only had Jimi Hendrix on vynl). The speed/tempo was a little trippy when I heard digitalised versions of these songs years later.

As well as these Guns N' Roses concert videos

and any music going, be it Guns N' Roses or not.
