Hey people I am after a new amp, I am a complete noob when i comes to amps so any help is very much welcomed!

BUDGET - £350

GENRE - I like dark blues music, like Nick Cave and Tom Waits, I am after a Marc Ribot kind of tone, with maybe a little bit of gain.

HOME OR GIG?- Home only, I play for myself and have no interest in ever being in a band or playing in a venue somewhere.

CLOSET CITY - The best city in the UK, Leeds. So there is plenty of music shops.

CURRENT GEAR - Check my sig for guitars, I am ashamed to post my amp, its a Peavey Audition 4w

Thank you for your time

I would recommend the marshal MG100

Very versatile and quality sound. It should treat you well

I would go with something low power with valves. A Fender Blues Jr is a fine choice, for the sake of versitality though get something with an effects loop if you can.

Blues Jr. will do great for those tones.

Yes I was rude, and I was aggressive and I was offending a large group of people. But I was civlized about it.

Peavey Classic 30, without a doubt.

+1 BJ's are great, don't get me wrong.

but i really think that the classic 30 would do you better,

more flexible, effects loop, and other things too.

check out a classic 30.

[regardless of amp] an OD pedal would probably be a good thing to pick up as well.

a peavey delta blues would be another good option. 50watts (IIRC) 15" speaker, and nice tremolo. very similar to classic 30, just a few more things to play with. that is actually one of my favorite peavey amps.

As mentioned, the Peavey Classic 30, closely followed by the Blues Junior.

Can get good prices on them used if you hunt properly
Epiphone Les Paul Plus Top
Jet City JCA5212RC (SLO Modded)
Ibanez WD7 Wah
Mad Professor Sweet Honey Overdrive
TC Electronic Flashback Triple Delay
TC Electronic Trinity Reverb

Fender Blues Junior

Fender Pro Junior (Personally wouldn't recommend - boxy sounding and not very flexible)

Fender Excelsior (Perfect for those Waits tones I'd have thought, but only one volume knob, so no natural drive at low volumes)

Peavey Classic (The best of your options, mainly for versatility)

Peavey Delta Blues (Essentially the same as the Classic, but with different speaker configs and tend to be rarer here in the UK)

VHT Special 6/Special 6 Ultra (May not be perfect, but'll get decent tones for what you want. Ultra has more gain)
