I have found a strange bird in the bill for an upcoming estate auction. It looks to be a short scale acoustic from the 50's or 60's. Blonde color, classical headstock, no pickguard, with a dark diamond - shaped stamp in the soundhole. The man's daughter said the stamp says "The Avon". the pic crops off the tip of the headstock, so no help there. It also has an hourglass tailpiece. I have looked through every gallery of acoustics I can find, but can't find this one. any ideas ?
