It will work if you use your tubescreamer, but it won't sound so good and you will hear the sound from only one of the speakers of the headphones.

I know for sure because I have tried it myself.

You can get Vox Amplugs relatively cheaply I think, little box that goes into your output jack then you plug your headphones in et voila you have a little amp. Never used one tbh so I can't comment in how good they are unfortunately . They come in Acoustic, AC30 (Marshall esque) and Metal (I assume a Mesa/Peavey model).

Those are all good options, but if you want the Br00talz, you need this:

Yes, you can, but, no, it won't work. You need a power source. Either drive or boost pedal or a pocket amp.
Actually, I go by Dave, but there are already too many Daves on this forum.

I'd also recommend one of the Vox Amplugs, got one as a gift a few years back and love it for convenient practising. You can plug it straight in to the guitar, or use pedals with it too.

In theory it could work plugged to tubescreamer, but dont do it. It may produce sound but it will at best sound like shit. Pedals are not a headphone amplifiers. The Vox Amplug serie is a good option if you want to use headphones for practising guitar without bothering others.

Or you could spend a few more bucks and get something like a Pandora multi effects mini box. Bonus is output in stereo, can have rhythm tracks, etc etc....

+1
But the AC30 is a "Vox AC30" tone not Marshall.

If you have a really tight budget, maybe one of Joyo JA-03 amps will do. I bought the acoustic version some time ago and it still works :-) I put some photos to my blog.
