Tried to search for this but nothing similar is coming up.

I'm sure we all have those few songs that we used to listen to repeat until they're now
kind of disgusting.

A few of mine are:
With or Without You by U2
The Avenger by RnL (it was cool because the vocals are weird, but apparently that doesn't last)
Orion by Sithu Aye
The Dance of Eternity by Dream Theater

I've still got a few, but their YouTube videos are just plain weird.

most stuff by guns n roses, skid row, crashdiet, cinderella, hardcore superstar etc.

Never listen to any of it anymore. Guns N Roses is the only band I'd still consider decent.
sometimes I see us in a cymbal splash or in the sound of a car crash

I've played a lot of Queen songs to death. Bohemian Rhapsody for example. I mean they're awesome, i've just listened to the songs too much.

I'm 20 and still listen to Guns N' Roses and Skid Row on the daily...

And belt out Cinderella every once and a while when i'm driving back from college alone.

For me, I used to REALLLLLLLY like the song Time and Time Again by Chronic Future. Looking back it's still okay, but it's not something i'd carry with me on my iPod

I have a very wide taste in music, though when I was younger, I didn't concern myself with the meaning, and quality of music - So fx. anything from Coldplay, Disturbed, and frankly, yes, Nickelback -shudders- I don't listen to anymore, with exception of a very few select Coldplay-songs that I can still bare to listen to - The rest I just find frankly embarresing now that I even listened to those bands...

Never been able to understand this feeling.

i definitely know that feel

as a kid i used to listen to korn and totally relate to what jonathan "mentally retarded" davis was saying

looking back, his lyrics are the epitome of terrible and i dont think he can possibly have an IQ of more than 5

His lyrics are pretty terrible, yes, but Untouchables is a fantastic album.

I just imagine he is singing in Latin.

To be fair, though, he did go through a lot of shit. It's quite understandable that he'd want to write that kinda stuff.

But, what I'm trying to get at is, why someone would be embarrassed about what they used to listen to. You enjoyed it once, so what? Same for guilty pleasures. If you like it, you like it.

Alright, Stop!
Collaborate and Listen.

Although when I think about it I'm not really that embarrassed for spending hour upon hours learning that song word for word. As it turns out it was a culturally significant song for my generation. Those five words can set a large room full of into spontaneous rap.

Ice is back with my brand new invention
Something grabs a hold of me tightly
Then I flow that a harpoon daily and nightly
Will it ever stop?
Yo, I don't know
Turn off the lights and I'll glow
To the extreme I rock a mic like a vandal
Light up a stage and watch me jump like a candle

Nah, but at least early Korn was decent. (When I was 15, that is...)

I used to listen to a lot of sleaze rock, like Van Halen. Now, I'm embarrassed to say that I ever found songs like "Hot for Teacher" good. Yeah, Eddie's guitar solos were good, but that's about it. I also used to be a Linkin Park fan. *blush*

I barely listen to metal anymore. Just incredibly boring.

I've a feeling that people who say this think they've listened to some iconic metal bands, when they just listened to mainstream metal bands or entry level extreme metal bands. (Hint: Metallica, Slayer, Iron Maiden, & Gojira [also insert pop-metal band of the day]...while fun, are not the best examples of good metal.)

Ah yes, the topic of this thread.
I still like everything I used to listen to. I don't remember anything in particular I loved that I now dislike.
