Hi guys,

I've finally sold some gear and got my budget together, in cash/reddies.

I'm looking to get an amp primarily for cleans/surf/indie general clean tones with alot of reverb and vibrato/tem would be nice.

I'm not looking for something to crank the bo&locks off, something what can get loud and still be beautifully clean, yes a bit of that valve-break up would be nice but only when it's really loud I guess (no early break up)

Combo preferred at the moment,

Based in London - will go used and will travel a bit

Cheers

has a master volume, i thought of the twin after reading your requirements, it'll stay clean no matter how loud, and with the master volume you're set anyways. I go back and forth alot between cranking the master and keeping the channel low, and visa versa. and the SF twins can easily be had in your budget if my math and conversions are right, i got mine for around that

Vox AC30. Loud enough, great cleans, the new models have reverb and tremelo. If you want the tube breakup, you can make it happen.

i really like my Music Man HD212 130watt. has a SS preamp with a tube power amp (some PI as well such as mine but not many). it takes pedals great and sounds has two inputs in each channel. the second channel has vibrato from mild to choppy.

the poweramp is 6L6 (just like a twin) and once you get to pushing it, it gives a little bit and sounds quite orgasmic.

its the perfect clean for me. i have played JC120's and they were a little sterile, i have played several twins (mostly silver face), own a 1968 bassman.

personally i just like the music man more than the more than the twin or JC, its kind of nice and right in the middle.

there aren't a ton around. i paid $425 according to my records.

In addition to previous recs, take a look at Line 6 DT25. Great little 25W amp that does a excellent cleans (and anything else you need). Easy to use too.
