I need some help recently installed led stripes on a guitar of mine and having trouble with high pitch hum. Orginally thought pickupa may be the issue so I replaced them with emg-85s. Still having the problem high pitch hum. What do I need to do or what can I do to eliminate this.
May be a grounding issue, but we really would need more details to be able to tell for sure.
the setup that I have on the guitar are LED strips that are soldered together.there is a power supply that is put on the back of the guitar. Then that power supply actually is plugged in to a DC outlet. I have not found a way that I can run the LED's of a battery to prevent being plugged in. I assume that plugging it in to DC outlet has something to do with the fact that I'm getting that
could be. how many volts do they require?
Its a 12 volt supply for it.
The hum will be from the transformers in the power supply being so close to your pickups and other electronics
Seems a 12 volt battery might run the lights if they require 12v. Why not try that, plus it's more convenient than plugging in on stage
I will try that and see if it eliminates the hum...
