I'm quite proud of my Puerto Rican culture, and have been trying to learn how to play its' music for some time, but am having trouble finding help. The problem is, any site I find is in Spanish (which I understand just fine) but in music, a lot of terminology is very different, so I find myself slowed by that.

Is there anyone here familiar with Puerto Rican folk styles or the instruments? Plena, aguinaldo, baladas, etc? Cuatro, guiro, etc?

Not familiar with the style? Here's an idol of mine, Christian Nieves, playing a modern interpretation of an aguinaldo.
