Discuss Star Trek series/movies/what-have-you(s) in here. Original series, TNG, Voyager, the new movies--doesn't matter! Even fan fiction if you're so inclined to be a nerd.

Rules:

There is only one rule: Picard is objectively the best captain in the history of the show.

Engage!

I briefly had a Star Trek avatar
It was a star fleet logo
it didn't last long

What is this, 2008 again? Because I'd be completely OK with that. Ecstatic, even.

Spoken like a person who hasn't just finished watching DS9. Or like someone who hasn't just finished a TOS marathon.

Also, I find the url of that Troi image highly disagreeable

Sisko is good, but he's no Picard.

And actually, I think the website in the link is suited for this conversation

Somewhat. I actually started watching a different show, but it's relatively short so I'll be back on DS9 soon.

STAR TREK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rocks. Ruled the airwaves in it's time slot as far I was concerned 1995 through 2002... I was just a little too young to appreciate The Next Generation.

TNG is such brutal, unabridged ****ing awesomness, it's unbelievable. I firmly believe governments everywhere would benefit if every politician watched TNG.

It's pretty liberal. My old avatar would disagree with its views.

But in a perfect world, I would totally agree. And to be perfectly honest, if I were ever in a leadership role, I'd probably think "What would Picard do?" when obstacles were encountered

Dont give a shit for star trek except for jj abrams movies.

Nappa y

I really don't mind them. They don't fit in with the mood of the series, but then again, that's not really what they were after.

Eh I dunno. Could just never get into star trek for some reason, and I like the new movies because its the closest thing I have to a mass effect movie

The shows certainly aren't for everybody, and I think that's why the movies were made the way they are. They are "for everybody".

The first episode of The Next Generation.

If you don't like TNG, then you should at least watch the movie Star Trek II, if only to finally learn what the term "KHAAAAAAAAAN!" is referencing.

Star Trek V: The Final Frontier, is also a great movie. Other Trekkies are gonna tell you about how shitty it is and hate me for saying this, but watch it. It's entertaining as titties.
#36
Yea, I'd say start with TNG. It's probably the most popular series out of them all.

Star Trek takes some getting used to, but imo, it's very easy to get pulled in. Especially in TNG (and DS9, from what I've noticed so far), the characters are all very well developed, most having multiple episodes entirely devoted to them.

Picard is really the only one who doesn't change. He's a badass from the start.

Woah, something just flew out of here really fast! Did you see it? I think it was your credibility

The only good thing to come out of that movie was the line "What does God need with a star ship?"

Actually, Picard is quite the jackass in the first 2 seasons.

Really? I thought it was the sound of all the fucks I'd give being propelled out of the vicinity.

AND the entire Futurama episode of "Where No Fan Has Gone Before", you dingus.
