I was walking around and out of a dumpster I saw the neck a guitar
I pulled it out and and it was a jaguar hh.

The body had been smashed to bits bur the neck was in perfect shape.

I was wondering will the neck fit on a mim strat. I like the shortscale neck that was on them

I'm also going to try to save all the electronics I can. Any idea what to do with them on a strat?

Neck might "fit" as you might be able to fit it on the guitar. Unless you want to re-position the bridge, tuning will be off. Different scale length and what not.

You might in fact be a dumbass. But maybe not.

What kind of reply was that?
If you didn't have anything helpful to say, you shouldn't have posted an insult.

This.
It will need some adjustments.

Maybe it would be an easier and more interesting project to make a custom guitar, applying the salvaged parts to a custom designed body.

Btw, you're a lucky bastard. I'd love to find free guitar parts like that.

And how exact might I be? Because I dug something out of trash? Because at the very least the electronics are good.

Because I didn't know about scale length?

Because I'm now thinking of putting it and the bridge on a tele? Since it's a little easier to change where the bridge is

Just because your apparently an all knowing guru of guitars doesn't make everyone else one.

I've been playing 12 years and never one done any serious repair to my guitars. I'm just not comfortable with it. Plus the tech at my local store is a wizard of guitars.

Why would I when I can take it to him and get it perfect

You lucky bastard! That's awesome! If it were me, I'd buy a body off eBay and work up a custom. You could probably hybridize a Strat body if you went with a Blacktop body. I would trace out a pick guard and utilize the switches from the Jag in place of the normal Strat configuration.
Out of curiosity, was it the Jag Special HH or the CP Jag HH? If it was the CP version I would try to salvage the pickups and rhythm circuitry, since it has the roll-split and blending option.
Anyway, I'm jealous, that's too freakin' cool.

it was the special edition one from a few years ago with the dragster pickups.

im really liking the tele idea now than i think about it. the pickguard is cracked up but all the controls and plates are intact. im thinking i might retrofit an old tele body with all the parts. including the neck. it wont be terribly difficult since i have a tele body from a project a few years back.

im gonna take it to my tech in a little while before i go to work. im even gonna see if hell cut the strat contours out of it

Show us pics or you found a broken Spider

Spider 3 dun dun dun...

If everything but the body was salvageable then you could probably find a replacement body pretty cheap and just slap it back together.

I have that one. Mine has a stellar neck so I hope you were as fortunate in your find!
A Tele would be cool, kind of a Deluxe look with a shorter scale. Make a build thread when you get started!

I would but I really like the idea of a hybrid. I took it to my guy earlier.

The plan is tele body, with the short scale neck.

Jaguar controls. And a white ss pickguard put on It

Two single coils I pulled from my Strat.

Strat style contours cut into it.

I was gonna use the dragster pickups but Jake said he was looking for a set so I offered a trade for 50 bucks off the labor. He responded "I'll knock off 100 if you let me put my name on the headstock next to the fender"

I'll say this. If you havnt found a great tech find one and keep him. It pays off
