HI, I'm a travel enthusiast and I'd like to visit Asia this summer (maybe thailand, laos, cambodia or china, not sure yet)

However, the problem is that I can't find anyone to travel with and I'm a bit concerned about travelling on my own, regarding safety and the lack of companionship

I was wondering if someone in the pit has done some travelling on their own and would be kind enough to share their experiences or give some advice.

oh and inb4 "I'll get raped"

If you're male and you use common sense to avoid being kidnapped or have your kidneys stolen you have nothing to worry about.

Traveled to America (new York) on my own couple of years ago. Fly out to Miami next week on my own. Best way to travel sometimes, haven't got to worry about what anyone else wants to do.

Find a hostel or place to stay that is more suited to single travellers and you are bound to meet similar people and socialise with them.
Just a plain rocker dude...

This.

Be a little aware of your surroundings and have some common sense and you'll be fine.

Consensus are that backpackers hotels are trustworthy since they're filled with travellers as ewll
