So... Im going to purchase a Vintage V-100. And one of the pots is 'iffy' says the guy Im buying it from.. However Im not too concerned, because I was going to upgrade the pots/wiring etc anyways.

So, being a part-time hobby'ist player I know about,, well not much of anything when It comes to this type of "stuff"..

I know this is a popular setup: CTS POTS and Bumble Bee Caps:

Im looking for that real rich/thick tone vintage tone so I was considering the above setup...(I know people are going to say the quality of the wood etc etc etc)

Currently Gibson P/U's in it..
I think they are(but not 100% sure)
Neck Pick Up-49GR
Bridge Pick Up-500T

OPINIONS/SUGGESTIONS??

-Thanks

What's the question?

Those are decent pickups, probably not worth buying another set to put in for now.

And that's a crazy high price to pay for those electronics. You can get those pots for $5-6 each and a pair of actual PIO caps (those bumblebee repros are fakes, just a smaller cap in the pretty housing) for $10. A few feet of wire and you've got everything in that picture for half as much as they're charging.

Here ya go. I really like the Vitamin Ts but you can get Auricaps or Orange drops or whatever you like. Stock ceramics can be muddy but if you never turn your tone knob down they'll be fine.

Definately not buying new p/u's. Just the pots/caps/wiring. Didnt realize how overpriced the item I was looking at was.

I guess there is no question, just asking for Opinions and/or suggestions. /leave it to me not to post a question for the questions Im looking for in this thread lol o.O --- Coffee hasnt kicked in yet today.

You might also want to check whether or not you actually need long-shaft pots as well.
