Hello,

I'm in a pickle, and I'm looking for some perspective.

I'm part of an organization in college, and we are about to have elections for positions. Now, there are quite a few seniors in the organization (about 1/3). It's about 3 weeks until they graduate and the elected students will not take their positions until next year.

My question is should they be allowed to vote?

The way I see it:

No - They won't have to deal with the consequences of their vote, and they could just vote for their friends.

Yes - They should have some say in the direction they'd like the organization to go (once a member always a member)

I google'd a few things and search bar'd a few things, but this seems like a thing best asked directly

any help is appreciated!

But boys will be boys and girls have those eyes
that'll cut you to ribbons, sometimes
and all you can do is just wait by the moon
and bleed if it's what she says you ought to do

Yes.

They know what's best for the organization, and they're responsible for its current condition. They may have also worked with those who are running for positions, and would know if they are qualified. And who cares if they just vote for friends? It's what the non-seniors would do anyway.

Yes. I voted on a proposed property tax, yet I own no taxable property. Democracy, bitches.

Hey guys in the last 3 weeks I ****ed all the girls in this picture, what do you think?

Nah, they don't get to vote. If the younger students want the organization to move in a different direction, that's their prerogative, even if the graduating seniors disapprove. I don't think I've ever been in a club where outgoing seniors were allowed to vote for their replacements.
