Hi, I'm new, so you can start hate me right now

I play mostly metal, I like Ola's, Keith's, Slayer's, LoG's, Tool's and Meshuggah sounds.
I have now opportunity to choose Engl Savage 120 for 1100-1200 euros or I can wait until Randall Satan will be released into music stores. I have a Mesa Boogie 4x12 Recto, not oversized, if that helps. I just don't know will be Satan worth waiting and worth possibility to lose a chance of buying Savage.

What would you do if you were me?

Thank you, everyone, for your fast answer and have a nice day.

You had most of that in your OP. I was mainly just curious what country you were in and what your top end budget was. Sounds like you are pretty set on these two. I'm almost hesitant to bring up any other amps. I'd consider the Satan to be a Mike Fortin modded Randall so I'd go with that. Also, maybe look at the ENGL Steve Morse as I just saw one for $1600. Don't forget the Splawn Nitro and the VHT Ulta Lead. Happy Hunting.

Randall has an amp coming out called Satan!?!?!

To Google, away!

You havent heard? Its Ola Englunds signature amp. Name obviously comes from Fortin's Natas which it is based on. Ola has posted a lot of vids about the prototype he owns (and uses in gigs), both in mix and pure playthroughs, Check his youtube channel.

Considering the genres amp is aimed for, it is fitting. Doesnt get more hellish than that.

I agree though, the idea of calling amp "Satan" feels a bit awkward even if I know its just Natas reversed, but try explaining that to your friends and relatives...

I really like the Savage, great amp, always wanted to own one. Maybe someday.

Clips of the Satan are pretty meh to me. Probably doesn't help that everyone playing it just does a bunch of boring polyrhythm chugging. TBH I've never been all that impressed with any Fortin design though.

Now I have some options:

Engl Savage 120 + Engl z10 = $1800

Engl Savage 120 KT88 + Engl z10 = $1860

Engl Invader 100 + Engl z9 = $1700

What would you choose for LoG, Pantera, Killswitch Engage tone?

Is that a real thing? I thought it was just a prop for those guys in A7X to stand next to when they want to take glamour shots.

Splawn Nitro for KSE

this is mainly wasted text, but

i have a MKIV, and it does LOG awesomely

i have owned two RG100ES's and now have a Randall Century 100, they were used more than the warhead (which i haven't played) in recording. CFH Vulgar were RG100es's FBD IIRC was century and i don't remember what was on Reinventing the steel, but supposedly the only time the warhead was only used for cleans supposedly.

i have a nitro on the other end of my house, nails KSE

Here's the thing: Fredrik or Marten from Meshuggah (one of them I can't remember) tried the Randall Satan and loved it. If you're playing Ola's music, then go for the Satan who cares about the name.

BUT I think the ENGL is more versatile than the Satan, and a bit tighter. I recommend playing one if you can.

Thread is nearly 7 months old, bro. Pretty sure he already found an amp...
