I currently have this $200 Ibanez GAX70 that i'm sick of!

I'm stepping up to a Ibanez RGR320SP. It has a Floyd Rose which I've been craving and is a decent price.

I guess what I'm asking is if this guitar is a step up from beginner? Because my GAX70 is holding me back I feel.

I'm still not to picky about my pick up sounds but here are the specs...

Have any of you tried this guitar? Any thoughts or reviews on it?
Any thoughts would be nice.

I think this a very good guitar for you if you're currently playing Ibanez GIO. I have ibanez GRG270B. It's a very good gutar for the price, but that RGR320SP is surely better. If you like thin necks you will probably love it. Ibanez guitars are known for their thin and fast necks. rgr320sp also has Edge III floyd. I have it on my guitar and I think it's very good, of course it's not as good as original floyd, but it holds tune well and I think you'll be pleased with it (I know I am).

The Edge III sucks.

Get a new RG with an Edge Zero II.

Edge III doesn't suck. Edge zero II is surely better than it, but still edge III isn't bad.

I think that it is probably the least favored of all the Edge systems though.
Gibson-DC standard, PRS S2 Mira, Ibanez RG570, Ibanez rg1550m, Fender HWY1 tele, Reverend Manta Ray 290, Charvel Pro mod
Marshall JCM 2000 DSL100, Peavey 5150, Peavey Classic 30 2-2x12's

It woks while it works, but it will wear out faster than any other trem I know of. Therefore, relative to other locking trems, it sucks.

Wel, that's true, but it's just because it's the cheapest. But still, I don't have any problems with it.

I have one more question!
What strings do i get for this guitar???

What strings do you use on your old guitar? If you like how they feel, just buy the same. But if you think they are too light or heavy, buy heavier or lighter strings.

Well I guess i ment length wise.
Are there different lengths of strings? Because this has a Floyd Rose on it, so I figured i might need longer strings?

^ nah should be fine

i'd strongly caution against buying a guitar with a known mediocre (i use that term charitably) floyd rose trem. there are some things you can cheap out on with little detrimental effect. a floyd isn't one of them. You really need to do it right, and that means OFR/Schaller/Gotoh/Ibanez Edge/Edge Pro/Lo-pro edge.

I saw in a couple of pictures that on Bucketheads Les Paul (only some pictures) that his neck pickup is painted in white. Can anyone explain to me why he would do this, and if there are any pros and cons.

The guy wears a KFC Bucket and a white mask during performances, and you're interested in the color of his pickup covers?
