Famous economist who was smart and stuff.

Keynesian economics is what he's known for most I think, it's what OBAMA is wrecking the country with

actually, Keynesian economics is far from socialist, its about mitigating the boom and bust cycles inherit in capitalism, the issue is that the government uses his theory on how to create a boom (in order to get reelected), then does nothing to rein it in so we end up with a large bust its simple irresponsibility, also on the gay note, he must have been sublimating that's why he's a famous economist (thank you Freud)

Did you actually read the book? Keynes believed governments would do better than markets. His spending to get out of busts was only part of his book.

I didn't read the book, I've just had it in class numerous time, as I understand it Keynes proposed that that during times of economic down-turn the government should spend money (possibly through deficit spending) to make the economy grow, then when the market is good, reduce spending and raise taxes in order to pay-off the deficit, and save money for the next bust, and by putting money into the economy during busts, and taking it out during booms it could likewise reduce the size of the economic fluctuations and thereby reduce the impact on the nation

He also believed that the market mechanism would always lead to too much unemployment etcetc

He's probably correct, although that maybe due to government intervention on the side of the business owner

Yeah that. This was just kind of the nail in the coffin of "why are you listening to what Ferguson has to say".
