What do you think of them?

I am probably going to buy a Beast from a guy from Craigslist, but I know fairly little about them.

From research I can tell they're MIJ, but other than that Google has told me nothing.

He's asking $200 with a HSC.

I could be wrong but if it is newer it could be made in china too. I like BCRich, but you need to just look them over really good. NJ are usually the better ones.
But I wanna say I tried a NJ assassin and thought it was a pile. No weight to it with a Floyd rose on it and it sounded really thin and no sustain. Must have been a bunk chunk of wood.

BTW that deal sounds almost too good to be true. Check it out. Its worth that with the case.

I own the NJ Beast, it's a helluva guitar, it's not custom quality or anything like that but it's great. I did in fact upgrade the pickups to a Dimebucker/'59 setup, as well as upgrading the floyd rose. I would purchase it.

He also gave me more pictures:

He also has a Virgin with a gig bag and no strings.

pics don't work

just to echo what danvwman said, the NJ series isn't necessarily MIJ. I'm sure I've seen MIK ones, too (and I'm sure he's right about china as well).

if it is japanese (and bear in mind i haven't tried it, i'm just assuming it's of similar quality to the other MIJs I've tried), legit and in good nick, $200 sounds like a pretty nice price. That's a lot of "ifs", though.

Now the pictures work.

So there are MIK NJ Series? Not sure why they kept the name (stands for Nayoga, Japan, the factory they were made). What are they like compared to the MIJ ones?

thanks. hard to tell from those, normally you need the serial number etc. to be sure (not that i know much about BC Riches anyway).

As i said, i haven't tried them, but judging by other companies' MIJ models versus MIK, the MIJs are normally better.

I am always suspect when I see a guitar for sale without strings, like, what's wrong with it?

FR guitars Have a lot of hardware that can be messed up, it can add up. Replacing a whole fr set up starts at $150ish on the cheap end. So think $200+150+ whatever else it may need and you could almost start looking at a new guitar.

Check the piviot studs, for looseness and play in the wood or if they are not straight in.

Look at the fret wear too.

But ya $200 for those aint a bad deal as long as they work good.
