I've looking for something like Deadwing by porcupine tree. The title track and Ariving somewhere but not here both alternate between soft and metal, shallow and open car are both metal, and all the other songs are soft. Can anyone recommend me an album like this?
- Opeth's discogrophy is mostly soft songs and songs that have both soft and death metal moments.
- Battle Circus's work alternates between soft and heavy.
- All the songs on Guilt Machine's On This Perfect Day alternate between soft and heavy moments.
- Obviously, Porcupine Tree do it with FoaBP and In Absentia too.

I'd say Alter Bridge albums consist of generally softer songs and then heavier ones, Blackbird is the best example I reckon, but all their albums are awesome.
