Here's another folkish song I'd been working on. I realize I may have overdone the rhyming in this one (yet again), but I think it came out fairly decent. I'm not sure on the chords yet, these are just placeholders for now. All opinions are appreciated and welcome.

Capo 2
Verse
G_______________Em
Went to Michigan, to sing my songs
In what I thought, was a world gone wrong.
Had my checks, signed by the man,
who sent my buddy, to Afghanistan.
But that kinda life, ain't made for me.
I was born in, the country.
Old dirt roads, they are my friends.
This is where, my life will end.

Oooooooooo, oooooooooo (Two lines of the verse are whistled before the chorus)
Chorus
G____________D
Old highway, please point me,
C______________Em
In the way that, sets me free.
G____________D
If this is where, my life should end,
C____________Em
Let it be said, he died among friends

In D.C., the plane touched down,
I knew they wouldn't, like my sound.
They don't like, the things I preach.
But common man, has a lesson to teach.
It was time, to go home.
But wasn't the place, I had known.
Now I'm on, the road again.
Things have changed, since back then.

Oooooooooo,ooooooooooo
Old highway, please point me,
In the way that, sets me free.
If this is where, my life should end,
Let it be said, he died among friends.

(Short Instrumental)

Oooooooooo,ooooooooooo
Old highway, please point me,
In the way that, sets me free.
If this is where, my life should end,
Let it be said, he died among friends.
