Hi guys,
I need to get some different music on my Ipod
I like virtually everything from slipknot to Norah jones, I'm a guitarist so I'm into Vai and Satch as well.
Metallica are my favorite band, so no stuff like that please (already listen to way too much).
Cheers

Electric Wizard, the whole of the Dopethrone album sounds awesome but my favourite track is Venus In Furs. The fuzz tone the have makes them worth listening to, even if you don't like the actually songs

Forgive me for butting in here but I have a few recommendations. I am currently hooked on a couple of bands that you may or may not like since music is a totally subjective thing.

Here goes:
Clutch
Corrosion of Conformity
Kyng
Blackwater Rising
Them Crooked Vutlures

That's it. Let me know what you think.

And from what MaXiMuse said:
Meshuggah
Deftones
Periphery
TesseracT
Mastodon
Audioslave

^Definetly these.
It would be pretty convenient to get into Queens of The Stone Age now and Kyuss or Them Crooked Vultures. I found a lot of their songs to be growers, especially Songs For The Deaf

A: 'Say friend, you couldn't recommend me some music could you?'

B: 'Ok, what kind of music do you like?'

A: 'Oh, you know, everything.'

B: 'Right... Could you be more specific?'

A: 'Erm... You know, stuff like Norah Jones and Slipknot, something in that vein'

B: 'Something like Norah Jones and Slipknot... Ok, let me just have a look.'

Could always try Last.fm?

You seem to have super varied taste, so I'm going to give you a varied mix! I feel like you might like these:

Nine Inch Nails - Came Back Haunted ( http://smarturl.it/NINCameBack )

Jimmy Eat World - I Will Steal You Back ( http://smarturl.it/StealYouBackVEVO )

And if you're into hip hop, J. Cole's new album is awesome:
This is my favorite J. Cole album, I went to a listening party for his new album and it was the best in my opinion: http://smarturl.it/JColePT

Hope you'll like some of these!
