I want a 2x12 and I'm looking at these. I have a 6505+ head but I don't know much about appropriate wattage or anything like that. So if you tell me whether or not I can use that cab or if there is something better for my needs. I don't want my low end to be too loose and I'd like to keep my mids pretty high.

New suggestions welcome.

Your link is broken.

But from what I can read in the link, yes. Cab wattage should be equal to or greater than head wattage.

What is your budget and where are you located? You might be able to get a really good used cab. I'm not familiar with Blackstar cabs, but I'm assuming that has some sort of stock speakers?

That would work but I can't say how good it would sound. If you have a cab already it may be more of a lateral move than an upgrade.

Well the amp is 120 watts, I believe. My budget is 400 bucks and I'm located around Jonesboro Arkansas

I wouldn't advise a blackstar cab. I was given the speakers out of a blackstar A friend had. He was going to throw them out. They just sucked. I tried a few cabs. Didn't like them. Going through avatar or white box would be much better. oranges or Mesa would be my top pick

As a 6505 player, I can safely say it's worth saving up for a better cab.

I went from a Peavey 412 with stock sheffields to a Mesa OS with vintage 30's and the difference is night and day.

I highly recommend Mesa cabs, and I hear that Orange is right up there as well (haven't seen any to try them out).

i have cabs from both mesa and orange. both companies build a hell of a cab. i have gigged with both brands, they hold up perfectly. if i had to pick a cab today, it would be the Orange with K100's, but V30's are nice too. i like the standard size of the mesa over the OS, but thats just me.

and i did own a 6505+ head for a week or two before i sold it (i think it went through K85's in an older peavey cab $100 used maybe from the late 80's or maybe early 90's if i had to guess) i still have the cab though.

but as a ramble either way mesa or orange its hard to go wrong.

B-52 and Carvin both build solid cabs for little money. I wouldn't pay more than $250-$300 used for either one.

I would suggest buying something a little better. The 6505 is an awesome amp that deserves an awesome cab. You might be able to find some cab demos on youtube, possibly even with a 5150 or 6505 head in the demo. You should be albe to find a Mesa cab for around $450-$550, possibly another $100 for shipping. Then you'd be set for a long time, instead of purchasing a better cab later.
