I got new toys guise!
Over the past few months I've aquired a few fun toys to play with, including one I've been waiting two years for. I decided that, instead of making a NGD for each one, I'd make one massive NGD for all of them!

First up, we have the ART Project Series 3 channel USB mixer.

This is a nice little computer interface/mixer.
It's good for recording two parts, or jamming with a friend through a PA.
It's got one XLR or 1/4" input for channel one, and a 1/4" for 2 and 3, and a switch for phantom power and to switch between line and instrument inputs on channel one.
It's super easy to use, and set up.
It's NOT a true 3 channel though. Channel two and three are the same channel, but if one thing's plugged in 2 its mono, and if theres something in 2 and 3 it's stereo.
All in all, it's a decent mixer at a fair price.

Now, a few months ago, in preparation for the main item here, I got an unloaded 212 from fellow UGer mmolteratx. He gave it to me for the price of shipping, which was cool as shit of him. It was made by a builder in Texas, and that's all I know.

So I wake up Wednesday, and spend all day waiting for UPS to come.
They FINALLY come, and bring me this.

I wonder what could be in this box...

MORE BOXES!!

I got a WGS V30 and HM75, which are their V30 and greenback clone respectively.
What can I say, they sound great, and you'll hear the V30 in due time

So this box came Monday.

It weighed somewhere around 40 pounds, and was somewhat big.
Wonder what's in it?

Foam!

It looks kind of like an amp....

Ladies and gentlemen, may I present to you, the ShotRod Guitar Works Spandex Super Lead 50.

50W of Marshally goodness.

Guts:

Around two years ago, I contacted UGer ECisthebest about making me a custom amp. We talked, and I decided on a JCM800 with a slight mids and treble boost, and a bit more gain. I didn't want TOO much gain, since I'd rather be able to boost it for Thrash and sill get cleans at a decent volume and a good rock and blues tone at a decent volume.
We decided to name it the Spandex Super Lead, and make it Ace Velour's, D.I.N.G.O.'s guitarist and my hair metal stage name, sig amp.
This is a 50W version of the JCM800, running 3 12ax7s in the pre, and 2 EL34's in the poweramp. It's got a switchable FX loop, and a 4, 8, and 16 ohm out.
Plus, all the knobs go to 11.

This thing RIPS.
I plugged it in, boosted it with my King of Tone clone (built by mmolteratx) and found my tone within minutes. It's so easy to dial this thing in. It's got a lot of crunch, and is very articulate. It's the tone I've been looking for since I started playing.
Shot builds amazing amps, and is one of the best people to work with. It was an easy process, and he kept me updated constantly.

All in all, I spent around $740 on this amp. We made a deal, and he built it for cost, which was awesome of him. This amp is the best one I've played through. Seriously. (No offense Craig)

The cab was built by the son of a guy who owns a shop here in Austin. He's built cabs for Eric Johnson, SRV, etc. Can't remember his name, but I've got his contact info somewhere.

And god damn those guts are clean. Shot did a killer job. Sounds great. Glad you've finally got a killer amp.

Urgh, I've been dreaming of a white & gold JCM800 with more gain for ages... why'd you have to go and post this. Think I'll have to look into something similar myself.
Yes, I know everything. No, I can't play worth a damn.

On this one you are correct. HM75 is based on T75, not Greenback. Green Beret is the Greenback clone.

awesome

the hm75 is wgs' version of the g12t75, though if they're anything like the celestion versions, that'll be a very nice combo

EDIT: listening to the clip, that sounds awesome So 80s \m/ EDIT #2: yay ratt

I'll have to put the Classic T models on my to-try list. Shame the finish options there are Anachronism Gold, Nuclear Waste and Aged Clown, because in principle the plaintop is right up my alley.

Presumably because the CCF (Combined Corksniffing Forces) of MLP and Gibson forums would rise up against them, plunging the land into war.

I was working. Iphone wouldn't do it justice.

Sounds very nice with the gain up and mighty fine with the cleans.

That amplifier is awesome. I don't care for Marshal-type amps usually, but there are some very tasty tones in that soundclip. Cool to hear you finally found the amp you've always wanted sound-wise. HNAD.
