I have been offered this. It is signed by the 3 members of Nirvana many years ago and comes with Certificate of Authenticity. Just want a rough idea of what ppl think it is worth....

That's not a Fender Strat. I wouldn't pay more than $19.95, but wait, that's not all! I'd also ask that a set of Ginsu knives be thrown in for good measure.

The fact that it's not a Fender significantly hurts it's value.
Actually, I go by Dave, but there are already too many Daves on this forum.

Fender MIM Stratocaster
Fender Jaguar Bass
Epiphone EJ200 Super Jumbo
Fender Excelsior 13w
Acoustic B300HD (with matching 1x12 cab)
BOSS BD-2W
NYC Big Muff Pi

Its more so the significance of the sigs and certificate, not the guitar brand! I dont plan on playing it. Its more an investment opportunity

Then you need to find out what those autographs are selling for on the open market now and add a few bucks for the off brand guitar. Nothing special about that guitar except the signatures and to me they're nothing special either.

What would those same autographs fetch if they were on a picture for example? Go look at ebay and other memorabilia websites and see. Then you'll know what they are worth on a guitar that probably cost no more than $199 new.

Yeah, this is kind of like starting a thread because you have some autographs.

Sorry but I don't think that it's worth more than the individual signatures.

Let me call a buddy of mine who's an expert when it comes to these kind of things.
Things with strings:
Ibanez J.Custom, Prestiges, RG8, SR5 bass etc
LP's, Strat, Tele
Noiseboxes:
ENGL Retro Tube 50

No point asking on here because the guitar itself is to all intents worthless, it's only the signatures themselves that are going to potentially be of any notable value.

I'm no expert in this field. Actually I know absolutely nothing.

However my guess would be that if the item itself is inherently value then signatures could well increase the value by a disproportionate degree. If it's an instrument they played, or at the very least is associated with them, then it's already a desirable item - signatures make it even more desirable - it's what's called "provenance" in the collectibles trade.

However if the signatures are on a piece of junk then there's nothing there to add value to, there's no inherent reason for anybody to particularly want that guitar in the first place.

I doubt it's worth loads and i'd be very wary of it as an investment.
Actually called Mark!

Have to agree with a few other comments, if the autographs are on a guitar that Kurt a) didn't play and b) wasn't associated with by brand, then the fact that its on a guitar means almost nothing. The autographs may as well be on a wooden spoon

Of course, you may find a couple of mugs who really want it which will drive the price up... but honestly, its not an investment.

Wow!! Are you simple and/or stupid?

Please read my initial post......

1-> I DONT have anything, I have merely been offered the opportunity to purchase this guitar.

2-> I STARTED this post to simply gauge what people on this forum think this particular item could be worth on the open Collectors market. Not to be mocked for starting a thread about an 'Electric Guitar' in the 'Electric Guitar' section of this forum by SIMPLETONS, trying to get their post count up with juvenile posts.

Now stop wasting your parents internet and go to bed. School in the morning

Oi, wind your neck in.

The fact is you didn't start a thread about an Electric Guitar, you started a thread about autographs.

Now behave.

I cant help but to be sceptical about this. How are you ever gonna be able to check the signatures to know its legit... Did kurt himself sign the certificate of authenticity?
"evil esteban"
if this thing melts again i'm takin' it to bugera headquarters, puttin' a bag of fecal matter on it, ringin' the doorbell and flippin the switch from "standby" to "on", and running.

This wasnt even a cool story... Bro.

retail value of that thing is the value of the signatures, if in fact they are legit.

also, what's with the thread title? it's not a "FENDER STRAT".
