With the intention of replacing the pickups in my guitar, I will also have to make a new pickguard anyway. This got me thinking that I could give my beloved a makeover. After deciding that a black pickguard and hardware would look rather nice, I began my search...

Here is a picture of my guitar's current bridge (VFT-1):

A short amount of trawling through the interwebz reveals that the Gotoh GE102T looks like an identical match (same saddles, same design, six screws) and also comes in cosmo black:

To my horror, I then read that the new cosmo black finishes wear off really quickly (can't have that) and I've had trouble finding decent alternatives. Anyone know of brands that offer an alternative in a black that won't fall off? Is this horror story a myth? can pigs fly? does anyone have another idea?

Thanks

EDIT: Oops, got out my ruler and the screws (and saddles) are 53mm apart not 56mm.

It would need to be anodized in order to not come off and then from my countless years of experience with anodized products anything done offshore will be pretty low quality and will generally wear of, take this into account when purchasing. The style of that trem appears to be like a Wilkinson style trem, so you could easily use something like this...

Odds are you will have to sacrifice because that is a vintage style trem and they really don't get love anymore so they are easy to find in chrome. Its more common to see black Floyd Rose's.

Check the link and company at the bottom of my post. Both have 6-screw models in solid black.

Damn, UK site as well but I forgot to mention that the string/screw spacing at the bridge needs to be 53mm.
