Saw a reddit thread on it, thought about making one here. Here's my list

1. Seven Nation Army
2. Joker And The Thief
3. Can't Stop
4. FCPREMIX
5. Ain't No Rest For The Wicked
6. Welcome Home
7. Plug In Baby
8. No One Knows
9. Savior
10. I Believe in a Thing Called Love

You know, we all love to bitch about how shitty the music scene is nowadays, but I think the last decade actually had some goddamn decent riffs.

Stuff that came to mind.

Anyone who complains about modern music is a moron. I cannot stress this enough. If you don't think that the 21st century has been the best musical age thus far in human history, you're not listening to the right songs.

I like your list except for Plug In Baby. I think there are better Muse riffs, though I'm not saying Plug In Baby isn't good. I don't even know what FCPREMIX is.

I vote that this song be added to the list:

But really every Billy Talent song has at least one good riff in it.

Impossible, you'd have to narrow it down to 2-3 year chunks or something. Too many great riffs to choose from.

I seriously don't remember this riff. I can remember his vocals quite clearly but absolutely no riffs pop back into my mind after how many years it has been now.

Death in fire-Amon amarth they have other note worthy riffs but I am going to keep it to just one.
Are you going to be my girl-jet simple catchy kind of fun why not.
Nostradmus-Judas priest, simple elegant pretty bad ass.
Seven nation army-white stripes catchy as **** thats why
Blackmail the universe-megadeth one of my favorite riffs from megadeth period.
Annihilation of the wicked-nile. Heavy as hell
Slayer world painted blood. It is bad arse.
Snakes for the divine-High on fire
A glorious epoch-Immolation the one thats under the first solo most of the riffs in that song deserve to be on the list but that one is most bad arse.
Demigod-behemoth.

I wasn't sure on the year on 96 but I'll just say that Infiltrate.Destroy.Rebuild is their best 2000 onwards album so anything from that. Vol 1 is still overall the best though. But it don't count

I would also say Turbonegro. They have some pretty catchy and fun 2000 onwards riffs. Sell Your Body, Remain Untamed, Ride With Us, High On The Crime, Hot Stuff/Hot Shit.

Think Amon Amarth, Iron Maiden (2006 especially), St. Anger and Death Magnetic did have good riffs, ACDC, hmm that's what I can think of right now...

This. He's a fantastic riff-writer to say the least.

Other favorites:

-Blood and Thunder
-Oblivion
-FCPREMIX
-Panic Attack (Dream Theater)
-Milk Lizard
-Master Exploder
-Fear Of A Blank Planet
-My Parasite

Much like D'sa, Ol Drake of Evile is a phenomenal riff writer. Different type of music obviously, but so great and really needs more attention.

Also, I could probably add a few Billy Talent songs to that list, and more TFoT songs, but ehhhhhh I like that list

I agree with so much in this thread. Thomas from FoT and Ian from Billy Tallent have pretty much influenced 90% of my guitar playing. I guess I can add some that haven't been said.

The Mars Volta- Roulette Dares (basically the main chorus riff, Omar has so many riffs you can't keep track)

Audioslave- Like a stone

Jigsaw falling into place- Radiohead

Damien Rice- Cannonball

Sex on fire- kings of leon
