when I changed out the tubes on my ac30 I noticed that the little wire "cages" and small black bands that hold the cage to the tip of the power tube just seems weak. today when I moved the amp back into the closet after playing it I heard a jingle like one of the wire cages was hitting the tube. I did not pull the back off to look as I was leaving.

Is there a way to secure the tubes and cages better than a weak piece of plastic that does not seem to have much elasticity in the first place?

Search ebay for spring ones to fit. They're really cheap. Here's a pic showing the ones I use. Not an AC30, but same type of tube.

thanks for the replies, yeah they are those weak suck flimsy wire things. the spring type retainers look much better. I will look for some of those.
