Hey guys, I've been focusing on economy of movement a lot more lately, and I realised that when playing scale bits like 1-2-4 or 1-3-4 I tend to keep my fingers fretted when going up the neck, but when going lower, I start with all my fingers off the fretboard and always have only finger fretting.

Thinking about it, the best way seems to me to fret all the notes at once, then unfret each finger at a time. What do you think?

For a concrete example here's what's been giving me trouble while practising :

When doing descending lines, I prefer to have my fingers already there so all I have to do is remove fingers. Think about it like this: if you leave the fingers there, then you only have to make one motion (either adding or removing the next finger) as opposed to two (adding/removing the finger and fretting another one).

Thanks, that's what I was suspecting. It's just that it takes more focus to get all three fingers fretting correctly at the same time.

Guess I'll just practice it and see how it goes.
