Hey,

I'm going to get Cubase 7 soon and use that as my main daw for recording and mixing music with. When I get it how will I actually get to record my guitar into it? Apologies if this is a noob question lol, I've used loads of other DAWs but I like the look of Cubase. I won't use a amp and a mic to record in (not yet anyway) I just wanna plug it straight in the computer.

You can get a DI box if you want a professional sound, or a big jack to small jack extension for your guitar lead if you just want to plug in and play.

Don't listen to him, this is one of the worst things you can do to your soundcard and doesn't provide good results.

Read the interface sticky which was linked 2 posts above this one

That sticky was a brilliant read, answered many questions. Yeah, I heard about DI Boxes and even thought of purchasing one but if it messes up the soundcard then yeah, glad I didn't make that mistake lol. Thanks!
