Had some time after work today, so i started jamming on the guitar, and came up with the idea for this piece. Its more of a jam then a song per se, but still i think its pretty cool. Id love to hear what u guys think of it (This is one of my more outside the box pieces, so if u guys hate it, no biggie, Im just seeing how outside the box is TOO far outside the box). Anyways any crit would be very appreciated!

For a ''on the fly'' song it's pretty impressive. I like the aggressive attitude of the lead and the moody and smooth tone of the clean guitar (or keyboard maybe, I don't have an exellent ear for that kind of thing..).

The only problem I see, beside maybe some arragements on the mix and tabs, is that you use mainly blues scale that we've heard many times in the past, but it's hard to reinvent the genre. You'd probably get some stage time anytime the retro/hipster coffeeshop near you hehe! Nice work keep up

Yeah, for a jam song it's really good. Did you play all the parts yourself? I really love the drums in the beginning. The guitar is very agressive which is a nice contrast to those lingering clean notes in the background from the electric piano/clean guitar or both. I'm impressed!

haha thanks man!!!! And u were right, this song is just a drum track, a bass track, a clean guitar track, and one improvised lead. U pretty much nailed exactly the kind of song i was going for though. Basically a coffeeshop jam, but a little further out there haha

Very cool! It's like aggressive jazz haha, interesting jam ideas. I like your soloing a lot, it's very bluesy and it obvious you're enjoying yourself. I can see this being pretty cool in a live setting. I do feel that the guitar has a wee bit too much gain during the softer parts, and the amount of gain should reflect the intensity if the rhythm. Regardless, some very cool ideas!

wasn't sure what to expect when you said "outside the box".... but that was great!!
In terms of genre, hmmm, I almost got a jazz/rock fusion feel, but not 100% though, but yeah, "outside the box" is a good description :-) (For a brief moment there, I almost got a Miles Davis Bitches Brew feel, but only for a moment though, it's not nearly 'outside' enough to fully go there)
That's some fine shredding you're doing there! Hey, that's some Yngwie at the 1:20 mark :-)
Is that a full band? Because the mix/recording has a 'live' feel to it. <OMG, I just checked your previous comment above--that's a drum machine? Whoa, that's pretty impressive, I really thought this was a live recording! The bass playing is also solid>
Overall, I digged it!! Could you go to my thread and leave a comment there: https://www.ultimate-guitar.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1602769
