I got this amp a while back and I am finally really enjoying it. I just put in a new Eminence Delta 12a that i got for really cheap. It works well but would not be my first choice for a single open back combo. Anyway, it has EL34s in it right now. Does anyone have a schematic for it, or possibly know if it can handle 6L6s, 6550s, or KT 77/88s? Im looking to make a different flavor but I don't want to screw anything up. Thanks for the help.

I can't find the schematic for that particular model. Where you might get into trouble is the screen resistor. However, without a schematic I can't advise you properly.

There is another easier alternative. I am currently running JJ 6CA7's in my JCM900 and I quite like them, especially once you dime the amp and get them singing. They are a direct replacement for the EL34.

Greetings! I have a 1978 Music Man RP 100/112 and I have a pair of Groove Tubes 6L6b's in the power section. These have worked great in my particular amp. Very nice sound from them.

Well it was asked if 6l6s would work. Up to 1977, el34s--- 1978 and after, 6l6s. No need to be a DB!

The whole question was if you could use 6L6s in the EL34 variant. The fact that you've got the 6L6 variant doesn't help anybody - of course they work fine in your amp

As Cath said, we can't be sure they'll work without a schematic.

What's the chassis number? Should be stamped by the serial number. IIRC, the RD-65 uses a shared 1k5 screen resistor.

EDIT: Here are schems if you post the number before I'm back.
