Just glanced over the BBC's coverage of the Downlaod Festival and saw this:

When I was about 8 my older sister was really into grunge, and she listened to a lot of pearl jam and I'd heard the singers name was 'eddie vader'

Which I thought was just so cool because I really liked starwars and thought he was related to darth vader
It's over simplified, So what!

Was Brann's name spoken or written? His name really is pronounced 'Bron Daylor'.

I know that's how it's pronounced, but it's written as Bron Daylor on the site, and even a cursory double check would have revealed that the spelling was incorrect.

Once I heard about Metallica's guitarist Kirk Hetfield, or something like that. But the most stupid was when Manowar bassist's name Joey Demaio was pronounced as Jodie Mayer.

U-G usually call Brad Wilk as "Brad Wilks" when they're doing articles about Black Sabbath.

I've seen people typing "Ossy" and "Ozbourne" sometimes.

And then you have the infamous Randy "Rhodes", instead of Rhoads. (It was even written on his memorial)

I've seen plenty of others, like "Richie Blackmoore".

also, all my life I have heard David Bowie pronounced with the bow as in take a bow.
Then I saw a video where he introduced himself and realised that all my life everyone was wrong.
Never imagine yourself not to be otherwise than what it might appear to others that what you were or might have been was not otherwise than what you had been would have appeared to them to be otherwise

I actually went into a local music shop today asking for some Di Marzio strings. The girl looked at me funny and said ohhhh you must mean D'Addario.

I had gotten mixed up with the name of the strings and pickups. Felt like the noob I am.

lol. I have no idea why you wouldn't double check the spelling of someone's name when writing an article, especially a name that's as weird as Brann Dailor's.

Theres a prerecorded radio plug on the local high school radio that plays fairly regularly, but it always butchers Frusciante
