First of all I have 3 amps (Line 6 75w spider 3, Vox AD100 VT and a Marshall G80R CD) I think I might sell all of them and get a new amp that works best for fuzz, I use a big muff and thinking of getting a zvex fuzz factory I'm looking for a tone that is extremely thick and heavy.

What amp's would your recommend? not looking for something too big.

^ i'd say it works best on a very slightly crunchy amp

tubes help, too.

something thick and heavy would suggest orange or matamp or something like that to me.

I'll have to put the Classic T models on my to-try list. Shame the finish options there are Anachronism Gold, Nuclear Waste and Aged Clown, because in principle the plaintop is right up my alley.

Presumably because the CCF (Combined Corksniffing Forces) of MLP and Gibson forums would rise up against them, plunging the land into war.

I use a clean settings on the vox currently, but I don't think it works to well with the big muff I feel it lacks a little drive and treble, I heard using a tube screamer could help though.

you really need a tube amp for it to work the way you're saying. especially if you're gonna combine it with a ts.

Laney AOR 30/50/100 $300ish you can find these in combo form, but they are more common as heads

Peavey VTM 60/100 $200ish these are also made as heads and combos

Peavey Windsor $250ish these are made as a head and a combo

Orange AD5 $300ish this is a 1x10 combo and really nice (there is one on www.guitarcenter.com/usedgear for $229)

The Orange AD5 is probably your best bet IMO

Yeah don't do it with a solid state amp.

You definitely want tube, whats your budget, styles of music you play, are you at home or gigging, are you willing to buy used? etc.

Around £200 and under I play a lot of Radiohead, Muse, Deftones, RATM, The Black keys, all of Jack Whites work, Arctic monkeys, Hendrix, Beatles etc.. Matt Bellamy's sound is kinda the tone I'd like.

I'm thinking of gigging if I come across the right people I'd definitely be up for it.

Thanks for all the feedback btw

Save your money and buy something decent. You're gonna need it when you start gigging. Stop collecting shit amps and buy something better later when you actually need it and have saved up enough to do so.

I only bought the Vox and Marshall because they were ebay locals on collection only so they were both cheap, I got the Marshall for £26 and the Vox for £120.

Still, my statement stands. Instead of spending money on a practice amp you don't need, save up for the gigging amp that you do need. You don't need mood lighting to masturbate, save your money.

Yeah you're pretty much calling for a VOX AC30 or AC15. But at this stage you'll need to find a ripper of a deal to get one of those used. RRP in Australia is around $1000-$1400, used here you can find them for $500-$900.

Remember I'm talking in Australian dollars and everything over here is overpriced, so you still have some hope of finding one.

I'd ideally go look at a VOX AC30 or a Fender combo, but even used these are going to be out your budget.
A used Peavey Windsor would be a good shout. It's dark, tubed & can easily get those sounds you are after. Plus it's a small 15watt combo, 1 X 12 inch speaker.

There's a used one in Glasgow on Gumtree for £100!!!! Bargain

I put a real Ibanez Tubescreamer in front of my Valvetronix+ and it sounded good. Not as good as a full tube mind you, but good enough. I wouldn't consider it a fuzz though.

I used the Clean Orange, Cali Clean Orange and Vox AC30 Green.

Hope this helps.

When I first got my Big Muff and played through my wee Epi Valve Junior I was blown away. OK so there's no tone control on the amp (volume only) but the range on the Muff was enough. For stuff like Black Keys, perfect.
